Default Nobody treats RO'B like this and gets away with it...

Claims he's being lowballed...maybe he's sick of practicing 4 times a week on field turf...

Ronnie O'Brien was a fantastic player and the best player for TFC in year one. If it wasn't for the turf/injuries we would still be chanting his name. We have yet to have a player that delivered crosses and passes of his quality and it has really affected our scoring. When Ronnie played, we scored goals, it was that simple. And after the few conversations I had with him, he loved the fans and TFC, he was always willing to have a chat and do what he can to support the club. Times change, but memories don't, still my favorite TFC player of "all time".

Big loss for Huckerby, most of his service was coming from Ronnie last season.....

San Jose can afford NOT to re-sign him!?? they finished in last. part of the reason they didn't finish at 25 points like TFC is they had Ronnie all season.

And they barely did anything in the draft.. and I read that they are "happy" with their team and aren't planning any major changes. I don't see that as a recipe for success.

Makes Mo look pretty good at ultimately (after all the dealing was done) getting a high draft pick for him.

Yeah I can't believe some of them thinks it's OK for ROB to leave. They finished dead last for a reason; they didn't score. And now they're OK with letting one of their two best offensive players go (other being Hucks, IMO)?

Then again, SJ fans have always been delusional. I remember them saying at the start of the 2008 season that they were going to make the playoffs.

Yeah, I remember being really bummed out when ROB left and it was agonizing that no one was coming in to replace him. But it did all work out in the end.

i didn't like ROB for leaving us, but honestly I thought he was our best player in year 1.. and as he went down with injury, the team fell apart. That year, it was a delicate squad (just good enough in the starting 11 to be an average team) but without him everything went to shit.

San Jose should know better, cuz they saw what happened when one guy joined (Huckerby). He made a huge diff (they went from total shit to average with him).
But even if you look at the record with Hucks, it wasn't THAT good. With Huckerby (and O'Brien, and Lima) they had about as many wins as losses and ties. If they kept all these guys, with the chemistry coming together, they could maybe make the playoffs (barring injuries). But now they've stepped back.

And if Huckerby gets hurt.... look out.
