Thumbs up Attakora-Gyan Wins CSA Award.

Toronto FC announced Tuesday that defender Nana Attakora-Gyan has been named the recipient of the Canadian U-20 Player of the Year Award for the 2008 season. Fifty percent of the votes were compiled by national team coaches and the other half by Canadian coaches who have taken the Canadian Soccer Association's national course at the B and A levels.

He has always impressed me when I've seen him in play. Hopefully in '09 we'll see more of him.

    Well deserved.

I have always loved what I have seen of him on the pitch, in my opinion he should be starting at one of the outside back spots. In my opinion he is a better defender then Wynne. However, I would be very happy with him and Wynne as the outside backs. I would move Brennan back to the midle. The three of them plus one pure experienced CB, would make a great backline.

Good on him for sure. Played really well when I seen him play. Would really like to see him step up and be used a little more this year.

personally I trust the potential of Nana more than these college draft guys.. part of it obviously is that I've seen Nana more than the college guys (just youtube vids for them).. but the other part is that Nana has actually played in this league and didn't look out of his element, even though he was only 19. That's more reassuring to me than signing another college guy who "was ready for MLS 2 years ago" as they said about Julius James.

Nana is better than James now.

The guy is great. I have no clue why he doesn't start?

He has composure, SPEED and can play football. He isn't just an athlete he is a defender with a good touch actually. Reminds me of Adrian Serioux. With more upside long term obviously.
