These people have one song... "oooh, ooohh, etc. COL-UM-BUS!"

    Should be "K-K-K!"

"If you've ever won the cup, clap your hands". Congrats, Crew. Hopefully this translates into attendance next year.

When the final whistle blew, I don't know if it was just the mics or the mix or what, but you couldn't hear any noise from the fans. These people have been in this league since the beginning and still don't know how to support.

They were talking in the game about the roster of Columbus for next season, I hope that columbus manages to keep their roster together so they can make a good run in CCL. Also with NY, I hope they improve their team so they can represent MLS well in the CCL.

Who will join Columbus in the Group Stage with an automatic place? Will it be the REd Bulls as Cup runner up? or Houston or DC

La dee fuckin da... Columbus won.

Biggest shithole in the USA. They might have won the cup but they still have to live in Columbus.

And they copied our chant. God I hate that place and their fans more.

    Fuck Columbus.

The winner of the Supporters' Shield (or the runner up) gets it. So Houston and Craplunkus go to the Group Stage while the Red Craps and DC go to the Prelims. With any luck if we win the Championships, we could get them in the prelims.

    LOL @ Garber - he's a joke.

On the plus side - Alexi Lalas shotgunned a can of Red Bull pre-game and then smashed the can...I can't stand Lalas, but that was hilarious.

The trophy presentation was close to being good - but a few things ruined it. (TFC not being the ones to win being one of those things)

Anyone else think the trophy's handles were going to break off?

US teams can't be drawn against Canadian teams in the CCL prelim if they keep the same set up as last year where the CAN/USA/Mex/HON/CRC/PAN are in the same pot for the prelim round draw.

    It did?

I saw Lalas's antics and immediately turned to CBC.

Please Nigel, don't be getting into that sort of nonsense...

The best team in the regular season and the playoffs won, Columbus. They were the better and smarter team on the field. Also, to all those people who keep bringing up age when talking about a DP for Toronto remember that Schelotto was 33 when he came to MLS and this year he is 35. He had something like 17 assists this year and 7 goals, not bad for a guy his age. Also, to those posters complaining about the empty seats today at the Home Depot Centre, yes there was a few scattered around the stadium, but not many. It was pretty much a full house.

Kind of surprised they even had that many people there. However, the atmosphere was seriously lacking with so few of each team's fans there. Having two eastern teams with shite support playing in the west was a worst case scenario for the league. Aside from the two small supporters groups it was a blue jays crowd just there for the day out. Ever the players' goal celebration were seriously lacking in passion and that was a symptom of the dead audience. I support Garber in having the Championship game hosted by the higher seed in the future.

It was pretty bad, oh yes. But hey, what do you expect from two crap teams?

Hardly a comparable way to make up the difference. They’d make more money televising a random NFL game say on American Thanksgiving than the MLS Cup.

I just thought of one good use for Columbus! Final between Toronto and Chicago, where we obviously lift the trophy.
