Marvell Wynne has been given the 'all clear' by doctors after weeks of suffering from concussion symptoms. Big news if it happens

    http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/...-staff-already

Alan Shearer has already selected his backroom staff, should he be offered the Newcastle job on a permanent basis. Former Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee would become Shearer's assistant, with former coach John Carver rejoining the club. (Daily Express)

    Oh crap.

Request: Anyone wishing to celebrate Carver's possible exit please submit his possible replacement.

Just read the article, and it says that Shearer will be adding Winsper to the team as well.

I'm not sure how to feel about this, as you can imagine I'm a little torn... I love my TFC, but what Shearer wants, Shearer gets IMO. Newcastle needs stability and locals running things on the pitch, and this would provide that. I love Carver as TFC Manager as he is the straight talking bloke you would want running things on the pitch.... Whew! What to say, what to do...

Losing Carver and Winsper would be the biggest blows we'd have this offseason. You see how the players react towards Carver when they score?? and Winsper has done wonders for our squad.

That would make for a whole different mood in the locker room.

    having said that..... NOOoooooooooo!!

Right about now, I'd rather lose Robinson AND Wynne than Carver and Winsper.

Losing Carver and Winsper would only be unfortunate because it creates a lack of stability. Otherwise, they can be replaced. Winsper may be a bit tougher but there are other very high quality fitness and conditioning coaches that can be found.

However, replacing Carver would not be overly difficult, in my opinion, not at all. There would be more than adequate replacements to be found on either side of the Atlantic....the real issue is whether there are any coaches who would want to work for Mo. I know I wouldn't want the TFC job if it means reporting to that douche.

There are two coaches in the CSL that have more professional HEAD coaching experiencing in Europe than Carver did before he joined TFC (Carbajal of North York Astros and Costa of Brampton) and they both have contacts that might be very different than those that Mo/Barry McLean have. Other than not knowing the ins and outs of MLS, why wouldn't MLSE look at these two very experienced coaches who are in their backyard???? Not knowing anything about MLS didn't hurt Carver's ability to get the job.

to sum it up, I would not shed a single tear if either guy left but it would be preferable if they don't, if only for stability reasons.

    I agree 100%

The lack of stability would be a negative but lets face it the coaching staff aren't exactly all world and irreplaceable.

i can understand why there would be a mixed opinion if JC leaves, but losing Winsper would be a blow that nobody could deny. personally i want both to stay.

Let's keep the Carver/Winsper talk in the dedicated thread, and keep this one for the glorious purpose of praising the fantastic Sunshine Girl the Sun has blessed us with today!

if he were to go, we need to find somebody who has experience in MLS. I don't want to see another new coach from overseas who has to spend a year learning the league. I think Carver started to get it in the second half of the season, and I'm looking forward to seeing him enter his second season with that experience behind him. coaching in MLS is very different than anywhere else.

JC an dWinsper are the FOUNDATION of our club.

on which anything can be built.

If we lose those keystones, we will be left with a massive pit.

oh my LORD now THATS sunshine. wow.

. . that will most likely be filled with government assited duplex's.

Mo can fuck off home anytime in my books. but JC & Wins? FUCK NO!

    you are right

there have been several Sunshine Girls that would have looked much better if the photographer took more flattering pics.

just look at how many plain people in Hollywood look so glamorous in magazines!

    Dale Mitchell.... NOT!!!

We really need to see carver after he has a FULL term with the club involving all the aspects of the off season right through to a MLS cup victory before judging his ability to lead TFC properly. (OK, maybe the MLS cup is a bit much, but a guy can dream cant he?)
