there's no way to even guess until we see what happens with player transfers etc, both for us and other MLS sides. we could end up with a DP and two or three other top players without losing anyone key, in which case I'd say play-offs are a certainty. or we could lose the likes of robbo and dichio, not get a DP in and only add a couple of middle of the road or fairly shite players, in which case we'll be basement fodder again.

Somewhere between first and last, inclusive.

I think Robbo will stay///Dichio will be left unprotected in the expansion draft, im sure Seatlle wont take him. 2009 will be a much improved TFC team.

anyone can guess closer to the start of the season or just after it starts,
but a belief is something you feel right off. this poll end in April 2 2009 you have plenty of time to make you mind up.

Toronto FC finishes 3rd in the MLS Pepsi Elite Division, missing the league title by just 6 points.
On a side note, Columbus Crew have been "reasigned" to the MLS 'Sierra Mist' Paramount Division after finishing in bottom spot.
Chivas USA moved into the Elite Division by way of a single point advantage over NY RedBull.

The MLS Cup saw some upsets as three Paramount sides reached the quarterfinals.
Still, it was Toronto FC who emerged champions with a dramatic come-from-behind victory over underdog Seattle.
Following the Cup celebrations, game winning goal scorer Danny Dichio announced his retirement and will move into a coaching spot with TFC.

We should look at the expansion and superdraft 1st before looking at where we will finish next year.

I have a feeling Mo will make 2 to 3 trades to the point where we will be left with 1 draft pick and 1 more DP slot.

Can we just win the league and then give our playoff spot up to whoever wants to sneak in?

We should just have a poll asking:

Who will TFC sign in the offseason?
(list every soccer player in the world below)

Even with just the team that ended the season beating NY in NY and Chicago down the stretch (and tied Columbus and Houston), we will make the playoffs (sadly, we won't win the league, so the season will be a failure ). Then, just like NYRB this year we will have a great playoff run and make it to the final. - some of us will have stopped paying attention to anything to do with TFC when the playoffs begin and won't be involved in any of these celebrations.

Flat Picker Man, you and I live in the same "should be a reality but isn't, is it?" world...

I still think it should be Championship over Paramount though. Sounds like a movie company otherwise (although Paramount will be auditioning all RPB's for the movie "Danny Dichio - The TFC story", which will go into pre-production shortly after the open top bus ride to parade the Cup through TO, of course).

I will only support this team if we continue our tradition of dead last.

The moment we get in the playoffs I'm selling my season tickets.

and I still think something other than Championship...

Could be right, although not sure how many people in the US are actually aware of the CCC! I like it because it connotes the word "champions" and that will draw Americans in. What about the MLS Power League, underneath the MLS Elite league? Gotta be something snappy and evocative, make the yanks think it's top dollar so they still come to the games

    The Flats

    and Hitcho Leagues!
