Default .... and now the bad news from tonight! Amado will miss our next four games on inter

Thankfully both Smith and Dunivant looked good so we're covered. Thankfully we have depth this year.

Four games though. What a drag.

what???? even if this were true (and I'm not sure what the point is?) this would really make the case that this is indeed a bush league that a key player could miss 4 games by playing for another team.. (by the way, if there a way to delete posts on this new forum?? - and I mean mine by that..)

This can't possibly be true. And to say that we are covered because Dunivant and Smith looked good is quite ridicolous. Neither player plays his position to start with.

That's what I hear. If I hear differently, I'll definitely mention it.

I'm thinking we might see Smith team up with DD up front and go with a diamond mid of Edu behind the two front men, Robert and Ricketts on the wings and Robbo continuing his role.

I've been impressed with Smith and I think he'll get a chance now.

Edit: We have Amado on Saturday for DCU.

    "Playing for another team?"

He's playing for his country! It's called international duty. How many games will Edu miss during the Olympics while he is "playing for another team?" I'm hoping they don't take Marvel too.

He isnt required to play, Carver can keep him, but depends on if he really wants to go or not (he probably does, cmon, its national games)

Default An Amendment: We will have him for Saturday.

Ya, we need to keep him happy and holding him back from his country will not do that.

BTW, an amendment. We do have him on Saturday against DC United!

yes that in fact is another team.. you might disagree but for me club is above country. Does he need to play in friendly games for Hondorus, above important club leagues matches? Good luck to Edu playing in the Olympics - (has he been chosen to play in the US Olympic team?)

OK, let's just play with ten men! Is that what you would prefer?

We have depth this year. We have Dunivant, Smith and Harmse ready to go into the midfield. In a pinch, we could throw Wynne or Brennan up there if we have to. We've got depth at the back with both James and Tebily itching to get onto the field. We even have Phalen if it comes down to it.

Obviously there is only one Guevera ... but that's the way it is and we're going to have to make the best of it.

Heck. With Robbo going to play for Wales at some point and Edu playing for the USA, we're going to have a lot more of this happening this year so get used to it.

Let's hope Jimmy B and / or Sutton don't go to play for Canada against Brazil the same night we play L.A. at home! If they do, again and thankfully, we have some depth.

    Re. Edu, that's my understanding.

... and of course I disagree as most would. Just like any good Canadian wants Canada in the World Cup, Guevera wants Honduras in the World Cup and he is the class of that team.

Sure, I wish he'd skip the friendlies but that's his choice and Carver is not going to risk spoiling the great chemistry he currently has with Amado by saying you can't go play in the friendlies.

Also, if he is playing Puorto Rico that means Velez will be gone as well.
FUCK! Velez is the skipper of Puorto Rico now.

I imagine we'll have him for DC but not Montreal. Here's betting we see James and Tebily in the Montreal game as well, maybe Cunningham starting upfront.

National team duty is what most players play for, so if Guevara wants to play all four games and Carver gives his blessing we have nothing to complain about, the Reds could be faced with quite a lot of national team departures over the next while so we are going to have to get used to it.

I don't disagree with you that we have depth. But unfortunately, there is only one Guevara. He's honestly the one player on this team that I don't want to lose for 4 games. We just don't have anyone that can play that #10 role the way he does.

I don't know man... he might get killed if he chooses club over country... you just can't pull off shit like that in some countries. Especially when it's WC qualifying games.

I totally agree. There is only one Guevara and we are really going to miss him.

I'm just thankful we do have bodies that we can rely on to fill in even if it isn't at his level.

Playing in friendlies is important for players & the coaching staff so they can familiarize themselves with each other without anything on the line, so when it does matter they're still not trying to work out the kinks.
