2008 GoTFC Supporters' Cup

Hey guys,

Let me take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone for making today's GoTFC Supporters' Cup such a huge success. There was some very entertaining football on display, and it was all done with fair play and sportsmanship.

Special thanks to Joe Jesseau and Sandra Moore of Toronto FC, who spearheaded the organizational efforts this year and really brought some nice prizes in for us.

And congratulations to the USector Lynx squad, who captured the cup!

A great tournament again! Congrats to all who helped to make this thing possible and to Usector for the win.

Great job by all RPB's involved in this tournament. Next year we'll take a strong kick at this thing!

and another suggestion for less year, make it 6 (including goalie) on 6...It makes for more space on the pitch and brings out the best in alot of people...and make it two groups of 6, with the top 2 in each group qualifying to the semis...

I think one of the RPB squads got murdered, but another one held their own and was put out by the team that won it all. Really though, I'm sure it was a fun day for everyone.

I was meaning to go cheer on the troops but the wife got sick and I stayed to take care of her.

TFC Staffers
Tribal Rhythm Nation
NEE Team B
RPB 2

TRN was good again this year, as were the staffers (they faced eachother in the finals last year and the semis this year with TRN winning both times). TRN didn't have the coach with the bluetooth headset and clipboard this year - that may have been the deciding factor. They still had some really good players - though some from last year weren't there.

Groove FC vs U-Sector Lynx was a great game (semis). Golden goal in Extra Time.

Oh well it seemed apart from them everyone was more concerned about having a great day with fellow SUPPORTERS. It's a shame these guys take this as the championship of the universe but what can you do.. It just makes the U-Sector victory that much sweeter

Hilarious that this all started as a way for bitching supporters groups to hang out face to face and now has turned into a really great tourney - next year will be even bigger and better!
