THIS LEAGUE
THIS FUCKING LEAGUE
uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh
yeah i noticed that too today
DISGUSTING!
Gave MLS a piece of my mind after seeing the site for myself. I simply can't believe how incredibly bush-league MLS is at times.
So today I go to the MLSnet.com website to check up on the socres for today's matches, and the first image I see as the page loads is an advertisment for Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Is Major League Soccer intentionally going out of it's way to lose all credibility as a professional sports organisation? As a Toronto FC fan and soccer enthusiast I can't help but comment on my dismay and disappointment in the overall direction that MLS is heading. If I wanted to find out more info about hollywood's next flop, I'd go to a movie website.
With stunts like these, it's small wonder that the rest of the world looks down at Major League Soccer and it's bush-league business practises.

Nicely said Cash. I was surprised to see it as well. What's next? High School Musical ads? Maybe Hanna Montana?
...............
It could be worse...Green Street Hooligans 2: Frodo Goes To France.
They will take anybody's ad revenue they can get. Classless.
Major League Shit
Azerban,
Glad you enjoyed the show.

Hanna Montana rocks!
MLS chingados
From BS:
Hey guys- thanks for all the comments the movie is on the site because Disney created the Gallardo clip and is using that clip to market the movie in markets across the country. We thought it was good exposure for MLS in one of our key demographics and so we did a promotional deal with Disney. Moving forward I want to add a number of cool new features to MLSnet and the team sites, if I can create revenue from partners where they make sense than I have a better case for investment in new features something we all want. I recognize that the league needs to balance fan experience with commercial opportunities but given the MLS tie we felt that this was a good trade.
What did you guys think of this week's Extratime episode that we taped at Nevada Smith's? Is this something you guys would like to see us do in more cities?

Would you see the EPL do this?
I think I may have bitten off more then I can chew with this league.
^ Nope. The only adverts they have on the league's site is for Barclay's Bank at the top, a small Budweiser logo at the login for the Fantasy League, and a few others at the very bottom of the page. Nothing as in-your-face as the Beverly Hills Chihuahua advert.

The league is struggling for cash and will unfortunately have to whore itself out at times to stay in business. That's how I see it, at least. I wish it wasn't so, but until we get rid of failing clubs such as Columbus Crew and Kansas City Wizards, we're going to have to find the cash to make up for their short-fall.
^ But that's the thing, the league isn't cash-strapped. Some of the clubs aren't doing so great, financially-speaking; but the league is always getting a cut of ticket sales, merch sales, player transfers, and pretty much everything else under the sun.
The league is making money hand over fist, just not all the clubs.

Holy fuck, you guys will find anything to bitch about.
This doesn't bug me too much... but a little - yes...
I would have no issue if it were a soccer related movie though.
Or one starring a soccer personality...
Is Vinnie Jones in Beverly Hills Chihuahua???

You're the idiots cause you'll still give MLS your money. Stop bitching about something you support.

Whatever ... it doesn't really bother me. As long as the league is getting compensated, its all good.
WTF!
Stories like this just make me laugh now... (largely b/c this tune keeps going through my head). but like dirkdiggler said above, as long as we get paid, no one will remember it in a few weeks
