Smuttynose and I are in banff right now, and after bribing the bartender of a local 'brit pub', we got to watch that amazing game. wow... just wow. I have faith that this team will be greater than we ever thought, and that all of us who kept the faith will be rewarded with a championship cup in the next year or two. It's ours, and even that punk Angel can't stand in our way. Oh... don't get me started on PARK-E.


I ask you : Have you ever stood in a bar, totally alone (well with your girl)
screaming at the top of you lungs because Marvell Wynne can assist like no living man?
Have you been there? I was just there, and let me tell you -- people get it.
Even the surly Magpie bartender was starting to get into it.
People understand what it means to lose when you shouldn't and people understand
what it means to win when it really doesn't matter anymore.
banff gets it, people who know footy get it, and the rest..... fuck'em.

Where did you watch the game, Mike?
Rose and Crown? Spent many a drunken evening there in Banff and at the one in Calgary, which is a converted funeral home. (Though the Ship & Anchor was my spiritual home...to bad I didn't know Gobi then, she'd love the place).
Enjoy Banff. Get to Jasper if you can, you won't regret it.

we're home! (unfortunately) out of the fresh mountain air, back to the city...
glad we got to catch the game, would have been really upset if we missed it! ended up at a bar called the "pump and tap" (can you tell parky found it?) located in the basement of a mall with about 3 other people in the bar, so we didn't have to worry about making a scene when we scored! good to be home, but definately could have stayed longer!

Banff....is amazing...beleive it or not...its high season is summer!...NOthing like cupping your hands and taking a sip out of the streams running off the canadian mountains!

Every store in Banff seemed to have a 'help wanted' sign out front.
I guess it's the switch over season where summer help leaves before
winter staff comes in. It sure is tempting to look into it.
