TORONTO — In Toronto FC's dreams, there is grass on BMO Field and a training facility nearby.
In TFC's dreams, there is a designated player, not a 34- or 35-year-old, but a younger guy and preferably a Canadian.
In TFC's here and now, there is a Major League Soccer match tonight in Kansas City against the Wizards. The reality is nothing will do for TFC but a victory. It is simple, nothing dreamy about it.
After tonight, TFC has five games left in the regular season and if there is any chance for a playoff spot, however remote, the victories need to start coming.

For three straight weeks Toronto FC has entered games under tough circumstances – on the road against Chivas, depleted by World Cup qualifying, or hosting the league's top team – yet have scored first each time.
But for three consecutive weeks TFC has managed to squander those early leads and give away points that could prove pivotal in its push to make the playoffs.
TFC coach John Carver said there's one thing his squad won't do if it takes another early lead on the road tonight against the Kansas City Wizards: Play scared.

Ricketts hungry for goals
Reds winger in confident mood

Toronto FC winger Rohan Ricketts admits the team must be more clinical in front of goal if they are to make a late push for the playoffs. The Reds haven't scored more than one goal in a game since a 3-1 win over Colorado in July. "We have created enough chances to have scored a lot more goals," said Ricketts. "If we weren't creating chances we would be in big trouble, but that's not the case."

Midfielder admits securing win is crucial

Toronto FC midfielder Carl Robinson admits the team needs a win in Kansas City on Saturday to maintain a realistic chance of making the playoffs. The Reds are six points outside the playoff places with six matches remaining. "It's a big game for us because if we can get a win it will put us right back into the race," said Robinson. It is a massive game for both clubs. If we don't get the result we want it could leave us too far behind, but we go there in confident mood. As a player you have got to play with pressure in big games against big players, and if you're not able to handle it you're in the wrong sport."
The team has benefitted from having a full squad available for training this week following the return of players from international duty.

For veteran midfielder Carl Robinson, today's Major League Soccer match at the Kansas City Wizards' home pitch is the most important of the season for Toronto FC.
As a former English Premier League and Wales international player, Robinson has been in many "must win" contests, so his insight was being sought by his teammates before they flew out yesterday.
In his usual blunt style, Robinson said the pressure of this situation should be welcomed by the Reds.
"As a player you have got to play with pressure," he said. "As a professional you have to want to play in big games. With those big games comes pressure and if you are not able to handle then you are in the wrong sport I'm afraid."

Confident K.c. Ready For Toronto

(Sports Network) - Kansas City coach Curt Onalfo said he "never doubted" his club, even though the Wizards labored through an 18-match stretch with just three wins this season.
"I never doubted this group for a second," Onalfo said after last weekend's 2-0 win over Los Angeles, which he hopes ended the tough stretch.

Considering that period, from April 26 to Sept. 7, included 12 road matches, it may not be far-fetched for K.C. to make a complete turnaround over the last six weeks of the season.

Kansas City (7-9-8) lost just one of its six home matches during that run, with three wins and two draws. Overall, K.C. is 6-2-3 at home.
