ya its behind the net. I think the actual supporter group is small tho. And ya they are pretty quiet, but like i said if they were to join MLS you would get a shit load more of supporters.

they aren't mic'ing this game well. I think the sound of the crowd is louder but they've got like one mic giving us raindrop sounds. i mean even when they nearly score, you can hear the crowd really cheering but the volume on the mic is really low.

Behind the goalie. Someone on the Voyageurs board said their seasons had past 5,100. Not great but not bad either.

    Holy crap it's pouring!

Now they're talking about TFC and MLS.

Maybe it's just me, but the image quality of this game is a LOT clearer than CBC's TFC feed.

Agreed, Montreal would have no problem selling out the proposed expanded 18,000 seat Saputo Stadium if promoted to MLS...

That is better than what I had heard recently, the number I saw was 4,000 for Impact STH's.

It's such a shame about the poor weather for today's game. I'm sure the crowd would be bigger if it was nice and sunny.

I am sure that number doubles when the MLS comes to town and the Stadium is expanded to 18-20,000 seats.

anyone else ready to proclaim TFC champions of Canada? I know it's raining but still the quality of play is quite low. Vancouver seem to have the better team out of the two but we shouldn't have a problem with either

Expand after 1st year I think. Make the demand for tickets be there 1st.

Considering the playing conditions, that was actually a decent half of football. Given last week's upset 2-1 victory over the Galaxy and today's performance thus far, I think Vancouver will definitely will pose the toughest challenge for TFC in the Canada Cup tournament...

Anyone have any idea what USL teams usually spend on player salaries? Is there a cap?

did you not notice that its fucking pouring like a rain forest? I've seen both these teams play before and they are better than this. The rain is definitely affecting them.

I only heard a bit but from what I could pick up Saputo talked about possible MLS expansion, being able to expand the stadium, the Canada Cup tourney, their academy (picked up a few age groups so that's my guess) and how the winner of the Canada Cup will represent Canada at the CONCACAF Champions League. Other dude is Gillette. He didn't say anything atleast while I saw. Maybe he doesn't speak French?

as said above though, i caught a couple impact matches last season too, and the level of play wasn't very impressive

Exactly. Don't treat either games as a walk in the park. Go all out.
