Default Just hit my Inbox from TFC - You Can Help Make Home Advantage Count

    Hi there JDG,
Toronto FC’s chase for the playoffs continues against Chivas USA on Saturday at BMO Field. You can catch the game live on CBC at 4:00 p.m.

The Reds are looking for revenge after defeat at Chivas last weekend. Eight first team players are away on international duty, but their absence will give the younger players in the squad a chance to shine. They've previously come in and performed well in games against Pachuca and Independiente, and also on the road when against all of the odds, we won in Colorado.

We all know that you’re the best supporters in the league, and Coach John Carver is asking you to shout louder than ever on Saturday. To see what the coach has to say, click here.

    SCOUTING REPORT
THIS MATCH IS THE PUROLATOR TACKLE HUNGER FOOD DRIVE
    Chivas USA vs. Toronto FC
    Saturday, September 6th at 4:00 p.m.
TV: Live on CBC - Channel guide: Bell 210, Rogers 6, Starchoice 302, Cogeco 6.

Chivas USA (7-9-6) crashed out of the CONCACAF Champions League to Tauro of Panama on Tuesday. Chivas are without Sacha Kljestan and Shavar Thomas who are on international duty. Former Toronto striker Alecko Eskandarian (#7) proved last week that he’s got an eye for goal. The Reds defence will also have to watch out for 13 year MLS veteran Ante Razov (#9). For all of the news ahead of the game, click here.

    // HELP US TACKLE HUNGER
Here’s your chance to join Toronto FC and Purolator in the fight against hunger. If you’re coming to the game, it would be great if you could to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to the Purolator trucks that will be outside the gates. You could win exclusive Toronto FC prize packages. Your support of the food drive was great last season, so please help us to make a difference again this year!

I'm sorry but this leaves a sour taste in my mouth. TFC have come right out and said, "No matter what we (TFC and MLS) have put you through, we hope that you still love us and cheer for us".

I'd have much more respect for a front office that has the balls to email their supporters, saying something along the lines of:

-TFC is upset about the scheduling conflict,
-TFC wishes that you could cheer on your regulars
-TFC would like you, the supporters, to be vocal and show your displeasure with the current situation.

Instead, they guilt us into forgetting about the issues, cheering for a bunch of kids, and to top it off, bring in food for the disadvantaged.

I think the food drive is a great idea but I think the timing is a little suspicious. Does anybody know if this has been planned for a long time?

It has been planned for a long time. If you check your ticket. It says it on there.

Guys, I got an email from Danny D this afternoon. He's asked pretty much the same thing. I suggested that they start a TFC Massive in the end just before game time. Don't know if they'll do it but it would be awesome if they did. If they do it, I'm hoping that we bring it!

I'm bringing one of my relatives to the game (his first). I've told him so much about the atmosphere, and he saw it on tv. It's gonna be disappointing when so many fans are expecting a good quality game. Instead, we're gonna be seeing a half-@ssed TFC team.

I'll be making noise, because without us fans, we're gonna be done.

WTF was I thinking in purchasing these tickets in April?

If you don't want to renew, I'll take them.

I wish I had season tickets, these are single tickets. This will be my first MLS game, apart from TFC-Vancouver, and Canada-Jamaica.

Unlike a few people on this forum, I'll be there!

I'm sorry, why are we at the match again? Shit happens. Sucks but those were the lemons we were dealt. If you are at the match, we need your voice now more than ever.

Pachuco, I hope this is the loudest match ever.

So who are we supposed to cheer for? Dichio? Ibrahim? Ricketts?

Count me in. Send those fekkers back to Los Angelos with no points.

Reads like a needy email to me....

    - We have a crap team
    - Most of the players are missing
    - We need you to help support us
    - Donate some food (OK it is for a good cause!)
    - Oh yes while your at it, can you give us several hundred dollars for more of the same crap next year....

I really can't get excited for this game and that is a first in two seasons... I think the club need to give something back not just expect us to give, give, give...

BTW I do get the statement that the suffering make the good times all the better (I'm a long time Leeds fan FFS) just not ready to acknowledge it this weekend.
Toronto 'til I die although still a Leeds fan at heart...
