    Barrett's best-ever goal

Striker's blast up for Sierra Mist Goal of the Week

Toronto FC forward Chad Barrett describes his game-winning free kick against Colorado Rapids as the best goal of his career so far. Barrett's first half strike was the only goal of the game, and has earned him a nomination for the league's Goal of the Week award. To vote for Barrett, click here. It was Barrett's first goal for Toronto following his move from the Chicago Fire.
"It was a special goal in a bunch of ways," he said. "It was my first goal for the team in only my second game, it's easily the best goal I've ever scored and it helped give us a win. The monkey is off the back! People won't have to ask me questions now about when I am going to score. I plan to keep opening people's eyes. I feel I can help this team out and I plan to do so."
"I am not used to taking free kicks," said Barrett. "At Chicago, Cuauhtemoc Blanco would always take them, and here I wouldn't have been taking it if Amado Guevara or Laurent Robert were playing. I got my chance to take it and I capitalized on it which was nice."

    WALK ON BARRET.

    It was a STUNNER!

and to have such an inpact on the game - basically giving the team the 3 points we desperatley needed is the best way to open up the score sheet with a new team.

    WHAT A WELCOME!!

Thanks Chad. . now. . . who has a chant for our new man?

Jaime Moreno is winning by a country mile. This should be Barrett's.

    TACTICAL CORNER

The Rapids certainly took note of how TFC 'keeper Greg Sutton failed to deal with Kenny Cooper's long-range shot a week earlier. Several Rapids, including Tom McManus, Facundo Erpen, Christian Gomez and Herculez Gomez, all tested Sutton from speculative distance. Sure enough, Herculez Gomez troubled the Toronto goalkeeper with an 89th-minute blast from every bit of 40 yards, nearly rescuing a point for Colorado in the match's dying minutes.

Speaking of DC fans, there was an article in SI in June talking about how one of DC's supporter groups is the largest, most diverse, loudest ect ect (and more bullshite like that).
