Yup, but pretty human. I've done similar when I was hiring, giving a shot to a guy I knew both didn't deserve it and wasn't ready for it.

It went predictably badly but I felt compelled to try, as he'd spend quite a lot of time in prison and wasn't going to get another chance elsewhere.

Brandon Vaszquez and Rayados de Monterrey V Inter Miami tonight,

Monterrey have 23 goals through 13 games this year. They're a GOOD offence. Miami is missing Krsytsov, Friere, Redondo, possibly also Messi.

I think he'll play tonight but I also think there's a good chance their CCC Campaign isn't going to end as predicted (most of the experts have been saying their is their main focus this season).

    He's a winger.

I should note that even his youth numbers are dramatically underwhelming. Herdman must know what he's looking at though, so....

Most of our ‘Strikers’ are ‘Wingers’.

It probably won't go anywhere, but given that he's available free, and given his pedigree, this guy would probably be a better striker than three out of four of what we've got, even though he's got no first team experience. Do you know what his story is and why he asked Norwich for his release in November? I suspect from his youth record he figured he'd land a League One or better job, and it just didnt' come.

He was under contract until 2025 according to an official release from Norwich but they granted his request to go, and he hasn't signed anywhere since.

I know he's a youth player, but he's 21 now and has a prolific history at the youth level. He only made one appearance, in an exhibition, for Norwich and scored a cracker, apparently.

Where did you find his youth stats? All I could find was he scored about a goal a game for the u18team.

I’ll take as many Gomis clones as the market will offer. Does feel like a bit of a hole-in-one though…

If you go on Transfermarkt and switch it to all seasons, all leagues, then scroll to the right of the page, it shows you his goal tallies at every level.

EDIT: Sorry, you're talking about the winger, not Dickson-Peters.

They normally include youth stats, although I'll admit his look so lacking that perhaps transfermarkt doesn't have them ... but that's not normal. It looks more like he was released with very little time at the u18/u21 level, or possibly (as he's Tunisian/American) entered the system a little later, and wasn't with them for long enough to accumulate much.

Newcastle United mid Sean Longstaff told Herdman he wants to finish his career in Toronto BEFORE we signed his brother. Doubly so now.

A lot of comments under Newcastle's announcement of Matty signing here indicated they would also love Sean to be headed here immediately.

Last season was where Hassan really found his feet though. For Sheffield United’s U18’s he had nine appearances, 10 goals, three assists and a goal of the month award. As well as this, he also made his U23’s debut and bagged two goals.

That was when he was 18.

That's a good find. I wonder why none of the online databases have his stats. Maybe Sheffield United was trying to keep him from being poached? I have to assume if he did that well at 18 then there was more in the last two years we don't know about.

But also... if those two years were good, why was he released?

This is what I got from @AllThingsBlades supporter group.

"He seemed good at academy level but not strong enough for english football imo"

    "Seemed good technically"

IIUC, not happy with playing time/what may have been promised, decided to walk down the street a few miles and try out for Sheffield Wednesday . Do not believe he played for SUFC again after that.

IIUC, he’s cheap (and no roster charge), he’s unattached, he’s domestic and maybe, ‘he has a nose for goal’. Fits the parameters of consideration/trial.

Supposed to be back in a week so that makes sense. He was doing really well. Other teams were mistakenly targeting him, funnelling traffic to his side thinking he'd be an easy fold, which is why he led us in touches his first few games.

    Ah, fuck. That was bad.

Too much traffic in our end to take an extra touch there.

The guy scores wherever he goes (that isn’t MLS)… okay, not huge numbers but he seems to be consistent in the three other leagues he’s played in.

Yeh, Perruzza would be good in USL somewhere.

He's too good for the CPL and knows it.

I mean... when was the last time any of our senior wingers or midfielders laid a ball perfectly into a striker's stride like that, ten feet from goal?

It was a good finish but it was also a clean look from close. Our first team's attacking cohesion is so lacking we just don't see that.

Assuming we don't make any big splash on a striker this summer and assuming we get healthy at some point.

When Richie and Lorenzo are back, why not stick Berna at #9? Something like this.

    --‐-----------------Berna-------------------
    -----------Lorenzo---Osorio-----------
    Spicer - Longstaff - Flores - Richie
