Reminded tonight why I don't like to watch the English language telecasts of Miami - so...much... "why is (x) so special" musings.

Luis Suarez wearing a big patch that says "debut" like he is some 21 year old from Tampa Bay who came through MLS Next Pro.

RSL is giving Miami way too much respect. CBs sitting way too deep against a team with zero pace and they seem to be committing no runners forward. Arango is stranded on an island upfront.

The GOAT, Robert Taylor, with the first goal of the MLS season.

Campana being kept on the bench for the decaying husk of Luis Suarez is certainly a choice.

In terms of the game, second half was abysmal for Miami, they looked so exhausted and tired like they couldn't run at all or keep up with RSL. If RSL was any better or clinical on finishing they could have put in at least 4-6 goals. Miami turned the ball over to them on very very sloppy passes about 10 times just outside their own box, Busquets on a few occasions and one on a pretty stupid back heel flick.

Miami's 2nd goal was going completely against the run of play.(funny side note: As Gomez scored his goal he must have gone to the trainers just beforehand to get one of those energy pouch things because as he was shooting he still had it in his mouth, then threw it away as he got up). Anyway, it will be very interesting to see how this team does throughout the season with even more travel. They also play on Sunday in LA so that's more cross country travel for them on short rest. Cannot imagine this going well for all those older legs in the team.

Last thing I thought suarez looked awful too, he just looks like he was limping out there for the entire game anytime he went into a jog or try to sprint, they even commented on it as he was subbed in the 90th. He should have come off even earlier for Campana.

Poorly played game for MLS standards played by a team already tired and a team without an identity or a plan.

People are going to play the old "Colorado in the mountains wait until they are tired" rope-a-dope against Miami. Last year it was survive to 75 minutes - this year it looks like 50.

I thought in the 54th minute "wait a second... their legs look gone."

It took Twellman three more minutes before he chimed in with "I'm going to double down on" them struggling this season. (He is, as far as I know, the only Apple announcer who has been honest about the situation).

That second half looked like a mid 90s Canadian Nats game at the Azteca. Imagine how they'll look in the second half against good teams, or at altitude, or after flying three thousand miles twice in a week already.

Suarez was limping after the 10th minute. I'm not kidding. They didn't mention it until the end of the game, but I have to wonder what this guy is doing to himself to keep 'running' in that condition. I've torn an ACL, I've had cartilage removed. It's mental.

And how does Campana feel in that situation? Clearly a quality striker by MLS standards, young, lots of room to get better. And he's getting spot duty behind a rusting version of the tin man.

Farsi has been excellent for Columbus but unfortunately just went off early. Great to see the growth of this guy thanks to the development opportunity at CPL.

Crew ball is going to eat the midfields of the east all season.

Most midfields in MLS are either slow or attack heavy. To beat those CBus passing lanes, you need to be both quick & defensively minded.

The East looks to be really top heavy this year. Columbus is the cream of the crop, but cases could be made for Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Orlando and maybe Miami to win MLS Cup this year.

The Revs lineup looks poor on paper and their play tonight matches it.

Montreal and Orlando are playing a very tight game. They lack the talent of Orlando, but Montreal looks very well organized and defensively committed.

Several key additions including Mihailovic and Stefan, and the Rapid are still getting utterly smashed.

I'd say that was some effort.

The main event of the evening is Inter Miami against LAG. Really interested and excited to watch Joseph Paintsil. He just strikes me as a guy like Cucho who has the ability to thrive and bring the quality of MLS up.

And like we all would of predicted, Mark Delgado sets up a potential winner against 2015 Barca.

Messi ties it in extra time and Taylor Twellman is twerking it in the booth.

I don't think that should have been a 2nd yellow for Delgado. Busquets really made the most of it and Marky slid in albeit from behind but he was a foot or more in front of him. Not to mention why was Busquets still on the field? He made multiple fouls in the first half and didn't even receive a yellow for the foul in the box that drew the penalty kick..
