Or at least we only lose 2-0 instead of 4-0 or something.

If we can snag a 0-0 or 1-1 draw I'd celebrate.

I just want to see signs of life. If we lose, but the Italians show up and cause problems, or the team goes behind but doesn't fall apart and look like they're playing for Herdman, I'll take that as a win. Away games are incredibly tough and we're in a rough spot, so just give me something that I can latch onto to feel optimistic and I'm happy.

The Italians are definitely the thing to watch from all of that, too. If they really show up today that'll be the biggest sign of all that we might be heading in the right direction

It would make too much sense to predict a loss here, so 2-1 win for TFC.

I think we start off in a 3-5-2:

    Johnson
    O’Neill-Long-Petretta
    Franklin-Coello-Osorio-Flores-JMR
    Berna-Akinola

Insigne and Laryea as second half subs, shift to a more attacking 3-4-3.

I think he'll line it up as a 3-4-2-1, with Osorio and Bernardeschi behind Ayo.

Looking back at his other matches for Canada, though, who knows. Half the time he switched the formation in the first half hour of the game.

Apprently in preseason we lined with a wide three at the top but it morphed into Bernadeschi playing behind the striker most of the time, or more inside anyway.

The relative parity in this league is such that all we can really hope for is a solid fight.

Beautiful sunny day here in Toronto, is there any word of any of the sports bars doing a viewing party/event for the game?

Left Field in Liberty seems to be the rumour. That's where I'm heading.

Interesting - they have acknowledged the first home game & put it together with a rugby match & an Irish heritage celebration.

BUT...they are a baseball themed operation so with a spring training game on today, might have to ask a bit to get a few screens changed.

I'll be looking at the intangibles today rather than the end result. If the players exude the right attitude, body language, put forth the effort and generally buy in to Herdman's philosophy, I'm confident that the results will eventually follow.

Based on Herdman's approach with Canada, I expect them to come out and try to go at Cinci. I do worry about the second half due to the massive drop off from the first team to our bench.

They played at a lethargic pace against the Jamaicans in Champions Cup. The skill difference between the two teams was us to CPL, basically, maybe even a little more dire than that, and they should've dismantled them, but got low block/high pressed into trouble several times.

But they'll come out much more lively at home, against us.

Probably a dumb idea, but I just put a cheeky bet on the guys to pull out a win. I am all in on that early season hopium.

Richie starts. Prince gets the nod upfront. Looks like a 4-3-3.

That's a fun line up. Let's see Prince coming out firing, the Italians motivated to shove some words down some throats, and Oso stepping up as captain. Just give us something to get behind!

The player I am most excited to watch this year has to be Flores. We have been crying out for a proper destroyer for how long now?

I am so pumped for today's game. This offseason felt so long and uneventful.

Let's hope the boys prove some haters wrong!

I wasn’t going to watch this game. But changed my plans after Richie signed. Great to see him in!

I do not hope for a win or a draw

I hope for us to not look bedraggled, dissheveled & mentally whipped.

I would like to see some tactical nuance.

I would like to see a defence not giving up a bonehead give away.

I would like to see a proper game we can judge things by, not something marred by red cards or injuries.

    We shall see...

    Yes. Nothing worthwhile on MLSE.

Worth it, but only if you have an interest. Good survey of what happened. Not a lot new that hasn’t already been reported.

I would just like to see us look like a competitive football team, with some collective idea of what we are trying to do. We almost never did last year.

How Fotmob thinks we setup. Will be an interesting new look at any rate. I'd prob swap berna,Oso and Laryea around so richie and berna right side oso left.

yeah I'm with you guys. Just want to see a positive looking result, and a reduction of the basic mistakes we were doing at the back and midfield last year
