Flores reminding me of Wilson Palacios... just that bulldog type player whose job it is to break up everything.

The drop off from our first team to our bench is actually incredible.

everything except for that last bit of play that run was good - got around the defender with the ball and plenty of space, then his feet just straight up stopped working.

Cash not getting onto the field yet again. Looking like a bad move for both club and player thus far.

Backline has locked solid. Shape is beginning to become a mess with exhaustion and there doesn’t seem to have been a plan for that aside from Flores sitting deeper and whoever has decent energy running to cover.

Interesting that Herdman has both sets of wingbacks cutting in on their dominant foot. Clearly, crossing is not a priority.

Edit: Actually, I think Kobe is right footed and was forced to play on his off wing last year. Point still stands, though.

Very happy with this performance if we get a point, but do wish we would have pushed for more. Feels like a game we could win.

A cleansheet on the road? Wasn't always perfect, but a great result.

Holding one of the top teams in the east to a point on their home opener is a win in my books. Something to build from

100% will take that. I’m excited to see how the roster evolves over the course of the season. Quietly confident we manage to put ourselves in a position to make some moves to push for a solid playoff run.

    1. Flores - well defended, ran so much and covered so much ground where it mattered
    2. Laryea - the most dangerous player on the pitch and was the most direct, including our pitiful striker combination
    3. Bernardeschi - the second half was better than the first, and helped defend as well as attack, but if he was more patient we'd be talking about 3 points instead of 1.

Excellent performances all around. Insigne largely a non-factor, unfortunately. Tactically well set up for them.

Flores was the biggest difference. Absolute wrecker, shut down the league MVP all day long. His delivery sucks, but his defending is first rate. He was prowling back there.

Very positive result on the road against a top MLS club. With a bit of luck, we could have had 3 points today.

You can see how much more organized we are defensively under Herdman. Cincinnati had a lot of trouble breaking us down throughout the match.

Great fucking point. That's a statement. That's a team who had a game plan and went out there to execute it. Made a very good team look ordinary, Sean Johnson barely had to work.

Really impressed by what Herdman has done today, the players look bought in, all of them, even the big DPs. We've a long long way to go but I really enjoyed that. Even if we don't do much this season if we play with heart like that all season id take it, absolutely night and day vs the Bradley era

Loved Flores. Boy have we missed having an actual destroyer out there. Pretty pleased with Coello, and Long was also great. The backline felt way more organized than at any point last year.

A shutout on the road and against the shield winners is a fantastic step.

But the question still remains (after how many years now?): where are our goals going to come from?

We haven't had a proper striker since prime Altidore.

This teams looks so good with a centre midfielder and Coello on the bench. (Still need a striker though)

Insigne on the pitch for 60 mins a match cannot be a long term solution

MLS early season games mostly suck. But that was by far the highest caliber opener involving TFC that I can remember.

Also, to the extent anyone should have won that game, it was Cincinnati. I don’t know what the xG was, but good chances were something like 6-3 for Cinci.

Such an enjoyable feeling, to watch TFC play with pride in a football game.

Sean Johnston is MOTM, for me.

Beginning to think Insigne will be an insurance buyout a la Frings.

It may bankrupt a reinsurer if it happens.

Decent performance and you have to consider:

    1. Away
    2. First game
    3. Against Supporters shield winner
    4. New coach

Take the point and move on. Season looks bright. No need to single out players, its just too early.
