Bernie staying or going (and if going, is it a loan that gives no cap relief?) would be a big one if not already settled internally. Of the players who might especially want to come to a TFC that no-one, not even management, is expecting to turn into a winning club in one season: hometown or Herdman guys (Layrea, Crepeau - these players, however, won’t come cheap)… or others for whom MLS is a step up (or promises to be so).

edit: Crepeau might open some budget if he takes a lower Tam deal than Johnson who is then moved. What is Johnson on, something like 1.1 million? Maybe Crepeau would take six or seven hundred thousand?

Handing Crepeau TAM money in a position we don't need help with, coming off a broken leg? No thanks. We're out here trying to shed bad contracts, not add to them.

IIUC, according to MLS/PA, the maximum parameter for a bump in salary percentage may be plus 20%? So an increase to GC USD453K for Crepeau.

I rate him above SJ, he’s 6 years younger and will make maybe 220,000 less… but easier said than done. No doubt, as others have said, the keeper is the least of our worries.

But cap space and GAM should be near the top of our worry list and saving $220K + some GAM would be a good get right now.

This has been a weird dance… Crepeau was told he was no longer in lafc’s plans, (tfc/herdman enter the picture) then we saw what he did in the playoffs… all of a sudden he’s back in their plans, is offered a new contract, within 24 hours lafc pull the contract as Lloris became an option - no clue if tfc has re engaged at this point, but you’d think they would (if my previous information about them checking in when he was on the outs was correct)

Very quiet. The TFC Cone of Silence? Perhaps MC’s sitch is in a holding pattern until SJ’s is resolved?

One of several dumb Sporting Director Bob moves having to do with our younger players. And actually Petrasso was not bad at LB, he looked every bit like he’d be good given some time and patience. I think he played 10 or 12 matches there with Orlando despite the position being new to him. (Unlike putting Shaff there which was always not going to work out.)

One of many stupid Sporting Director Bob moves having to do with our younger players. And actually Petrasso was not bad at LB, he looked every bit like he’d be good given some time and patience. Unlike putting Shaff there which was always not going to work out.

bob made lots of awful moves (almost all) but petrasso has proven not to be an MLS player. he barely got a game at orlando last year, hence being looked at by teams at a lower level (serie b).
