Very cheap! An affordability that’s required; VV budget zone. IIUC, bought out at Fehervar at a yearly salary of E135K or circa USD148K. So, a bargain with no transfer fee and even with a salary enticement of up to USD300k. Seems he only made USD54,500.00 a year when last with the VWC.

    Was a teenager in Vancouver.

But yeah serviceable midfield depth for 150k-250k would be amazing.

Gazzetto dello sport linking insigne to Florentino this morning.

Says his salary too high but he wants to return to serie a and willing to take a pay cut.

    One to watch.

I hope there is legitimacy to this report. He would be a much needed addition in the midfield.

normally these type of shouts i think are bullshit.

but thinking deeper on it - herdman brought his staff/chief scout over here from CMNT- and as well as himself, just spent how many years through a WC cycle building player pool databases for most of the countries in concacaf canada would have had to face or could have faced. This feels exactly the type of thing where they have the advanced data on this guy, and he's good value coming from a non top 4-5 league in EU (but has still played top competitive football). Honduran NT regular, played in Hungary/greece, with a bit of a prior mls past. Feels like they'd have the depth reports on this guy when scouting the regions rosters pre-tournaments/matches.

Some how... just thinking ahead this could be a savvy way of building the roster. Finding moneyball concacaf/nt players that play around the globe in leagues that aren't necessarily big named leagues - but showed at nats level and confirmed for their own clubs - that they have the metrics to perform. No idea how good this guy is, but it feels like this guy is that type of scouting/recruitment vs. an agent just throwing his clients name out to an mls club. Maybe its bullshit, but this for some reason makes sense.

The day started with new Lorenzo Insigne rumours that Fiorentina were interested in giving the Toronto FC DP his Serie A return.

    Fiorentina have denied the link.

But as the transfer window heats up, rumours of Insigne leaving #TFClive won't go away.

There been rumors of him leaving since he landed here.

I want to see more Berna rumors.

Played mostly as right midfielder or right back. But he's two-footed so he played multiple positions over his career, including some central I think.

Hasler was a swiss army knife who could play anywhere. You always need one of those guys in MLS. I hated that trade when it was made.

Yes, but he was simply a serviceable piece on the best team in MLS history. That was also 5-6 years ago. I'm sure kosi would've looked good on that team as a utility player.

Looks like he's going to serie C.

That's a way lower level than mls and likely similar to cpl.

Actually, he was a Liechtensteiner army knife...

Kosi Thompson, Brandon Servania and Latif Blessing. HSQRD, seems ‘You Brought Two Too Many’…

We definitely have too many of these type of "high energy but low technical skill" midfielders. Coello the only obvious exception.

Purely based on his highlight reels, Flores looks like a much more mobile version of Sam Piette.

Any confirmation of what Flores salary may be? IMO, the H/2 tell.

Nice to have one deal over the line in a position of need.

Now let’s get a CB and additional midfield depth. If we can shed an Italian in the process I wouldn’t be upset.

Nonsensical MLS bullshit. This reeks of trying to keep his dollars down so Vancouver can sign him.

He's not under contract to MLS, so he can't be an MLS free agent. He's here on loan.

Fuck me, this league is embarrassing sometimes.

The follow up from Bogert with quotes from Schuster is the more relevant point tbf. Basically Forrest want too big of a transfer fee

When you look at the caliber of signings in the league in the offseason so far... a guy from the Hungarian league is a pretty marginal signing.

But I guess, really, who knows? This is the sort of thing we are going to have to be good at now.

Directionally, I agree. This is no longer a signing (on paper) that moves needle in MLS. It’s more of a flyer of a player we hope can adapt well and play a bit above his profile (which isn’t unheard of).

My expectations for this season are rock bottom. But fully expect given our budgetary constraints and other considerations TFC will struggle to compete.

I think the read-between-the-lines on this one is that Herdman's national team has faced him a handful of times so he knows what he's getting. And Derek Cornelius played with him in Greece, where he was his team's MVP his first season in the Greek league.

So they're paying more attention, I think, to some of the fine details.

I've read a few comments from Honduran supporters and they say he's a straight up Anchor. He's probably faster and more quick to tackle than Piette but not as good a passer; his technical set is entirely defensive but he has an engine.

So he's buying him as a straight-up wrecker.
