Default Leagues Cup - Other Games Discussions

Yeh, I know..."a money grab" etc. etc. etc.

And yet...some intriguing games between LigaMx & MLS teams.

    Example

    Tonight

    Montreal vs. Pumas

    Philly vs. Tijuana

    Good tests

And then there is the CONCACAF craziness - not just Messi's goal last night but Leon & the Whitecaps go to 16/15 on PK's....just for 1 point.

Yup, its silly & weird....but ultimately, it will be what MLS and MLS vs. CONCACAF always is......a hella weird crazy stuff.

What’s not a money grab? Some of the best games are always games between MLS and the Mexican League . Already saw a couple of League Cup games last night that were better than most regular season games I’ve watched this season . This thing will only get bigger as the years go by. The only thing that needs changing is the 3 team groups go to 4 team groups, moreover the Mexican teams need to also play home games to legitimize this tournament, but for now enjoy it and stop being “ get off my grass” old people and try and accept change !

The Leon v Vancouver highlights are something else… I mean, that is entertainment!

Cota was the Chivas GK against us in Guadalajara btw

Its kinda like complaining about Europa Leauge matches as a cash grab. We all know that level is just a make work project for European teams to get more income.

So? Watch the games, see the competition. Enjoy the time.

^ That was really something. Clinical penalty taking by both teams. And Cordova, who was looking sort of questionable for a while now has 3 goals in his last 2 games.

    And....whisper it quietly

    a) games free to season seat holders and not all on at the same time grow the game

    b) Some US soccer watchers are going to pick a LigaMx team to follow - "my LigaMx team is" might be coming. (less likely the other way around)

West Ham fans probably thought the Conference League was a big cash grab (it is), but look how much joy it brought the club and supporters when they won it. The teams and leagues are taking it seriously. I honestly think both MLS and Liga MX want this to replace the CCL.

Thanks brother. Looks like a clean break, got another follow up appointment Monday. Foot looks like a balloon. The moral of the story is that you lose a lot of flexibility after you get into your 30's. Haha.

But do it without a complete mid-term break. This is crazy - no flow.

Hope you make a quick recovery! You’re supposed to this during a winning season though, way more enjoyable.

Unless we actually completely ruined his confidence, MAK as a 6 against the Red Bulls is a recipe for disaster. The press has never been something he can deal with. Honestly, historically our midfielders have had issues with the Red Bull press. Bradley, Delgado and Osorio likely have had their worst games against NYRB.

Black and blue stripes - keep the classics (less said about this years TFC jersey the better)

If TFC used that same kit with blue swapped for red, I'd buy it.

Saliba looks pretty good out there. Still requires some polish but he’s incredible wheeling out tight spaces at times. Montreal needs to hurry up and sell so I can root for him.

    Pumas look damn mediocre.

Mathieu Choinière not being selected for the Gold Cup over Liam Fraser is almost a war crime.

Was it just me or was that foul on Carranza/initial contact well outside the box?

Yeah, that’s just incredible. There was some suggestion it was because he was injured but it sounded like Herdman would have left him at home anyway.

All to continue this charade of Liam Fraser being a nats level player. And don’t get me started on the other guy he keeps calling (name escapes me).. he’s awful.

Sorry, I am rooting for every MLS team when they face a Liga MX team. MLS is on the rise.

    I wondered that to.

On replay it was a push & inside.

I get the feeling some of these LigaMx teams are going to have to start doing some research about their opponents. Club Tijuana is trying to play through the middle of the park and getting eaten up by that 4-2-3-1 by both the quick turnarounds and the line breaking passes from the DMs.

A lot of LigaMx teams have not taken CONCACAF opponents seriously.

    The Dogso red won't help.

Is it Liam Millar? The guy is an average MLS player who keeps getting a call because he plays in Switzerland.

He’s be slumping in recent years but no not him. Thinking of Brym.
