Depending on where everyone is in the table at that time. Miami may choose to rest the 3 of them..if we are still bottom of the table and they have jumped us and are close to the playoff line. They will have a tougher opponent on the 24th in Orlando and then the US Open Cup final on the 27. Then they could potentially rest them vs NYCFC on the 30th after those two games also. However they keep saying on the podcasts that Messi won't want to sit but I mean no player likes to sit but they'll have to give him some time off eventually.
Had to follow-up, when I came across this...
Fuckin' Hell It's Sid Waddell (Voice Of Darts and Paul Cannell references)... Love his fellow Geordie... Ray Hudson's as a (colour) commentator. A 1970's English wave footballin' immigrant. Has had a storied journeyman/pioneering career in various aspects of the sport in North America.
"He doesn't pull passes or rabbits out of his magic hat; he pulls kangaroos!"
"Drops a pint of beer into the shot glass at the other end of the bar in a different village!"
"Messi, where the impossible becomes the easy. Where the magical becomes a predictable!"
Honourable Hudson-ism mention... co-commentator Andres Cordero...
"Rinse and repeat!"

Ray Hudson is great.
Good chance he's rested tonight - full NYRB stadium mostly Messi fans will not be happy if he doesn't play - might riot if he's not on the bench.
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
Owusu's probably sick. He said he took something for a bug in the first game.
Wait there are actually soccer fans in the New Jersey area ? They have one of the best stadiums in MLS but your lucky if 3000 ever show up to a Red Bulls game in that proper soccer stadium , but of course tonight it’s full lol .

The pass was amazing but NYRB letting him go through after it was criminal.
Seriously, watch the #5 on this goal

The follow-up still...
Actually, there should be a seventh red outline! 6 ball watching while a missed seventh RBNY player going to ground beside Cremaschi that got nutmegged by him.

^^
I understand it though; even given the suggested way it looks. There are several videos offering different camera angles/views. This one in slow-mo shows Messi essentially moving away/retreating from the goal, only to catch a glimpse of Cremaschi's run, make the unbelievable toe pass thread and then immediately turn on a dime to join the attack and receive back the feed to net.

Messi should play when TFC meets IMCF. Still, FWIW/FYI...

Miami signed his son Thiago to their U12 team.
One thing Messi has made clear and we saw evidence of against Philly: Most teams in this league play stupefyingly dense zone defense. They never man up, even in the box, and they centralize themselves in zones, leaving space between the defenders.
One of the reasons McNaughton was able to shut him down is that Gary Smith has clearly taught his players to consider opponents running into zonal space. So whenever a ball may come in, if there isn't a man already running to the near post, McNaughton will cheat back centrally to within a couple of arms' lengths of the other central defender.
The reason this is smart and works is that, just as with goalie positioning, it's much easier to shift cover going forward, to pick up the post man late, than it is to tighten centrally and backpedal to close off a runner coming in between the center halves.
That's why Nashville has shut him out twice. His bread and butter is waiting until the central defenders' attention is drawn away (usually to Jordy Alba, low) then cut between them for an easy look at goal. Nashville just shut that down completely. He's still dangerous as evidenced by setting up two of the goals against LA. But nearly all of his goal scoring threat comes from the same central, top of the box positions. Close that off and he has more trouble.
This Inter Miami team is actually legit. Farias is a baller.
They are... but they don't look as good as their record. I think without Messi, but with Busquets and Alba and Faria, they're a decent MLS team. With Messi, it's going to be hard for them to lose. The defending just isn't good enough in this league.
I suspect that next year, as with many new MLS arrivals, there will have been an adjustment period, and people will stop ceding the center of the box to him constantly. Nashville has shut him out twice with McNaughton the only center back playing both. So... if that's possible, a cold streak is possible, a loss streak is possible.
I think he's the ultimate player and competitor but even three great players are not a guaranteed win in this league.
Also, he, Busquets and Alba are all older and there is a LOT of travel in this league. A dozen games? Great. 34 games covering an average of a thousand kilometers each+ ? It may be harder to turn out for an entire season and stay healthy. Niggling injuries here seem constant, on every squad. Three older players are going to fall into that category. I'm not saying WE'RE evidence of that, but it's not like having an older lineup has helped us this year.
A Miami city commissioner was arrested today for bribes, including allegeldy one for voting for a stadium in Miami.
from a reddit thread
Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Thursday arrested Miami City Commissioner Alejandro "Alex" Diaz de la Portilla on criminal charges of money laundering and bribery that were apparently related to accepting campaign contributions but failing to disclose them, investigators said. The FDLE statement said Riley Jr. controlled a bank account in the name of a Delaware-based corporation that was used to launder $245,000 in concealed political contributions made by a management services company in exchange for permission to build a sports complex in the city of Miami.Diaz de la Portilla was a 'yes' vote on the Inter Miami stadium project, which required 4/5 yes votes on the council.
Eek.

This will be an issue here next season.
To be honest this is an exceptional case because it's Messi.
Yes if you wear an Inter Miami kit it's not a good look, but if you want to wear the Barca shirt then that's fine by me.
Messi is the football GOAT and a living world legend, enjoy the spectacle while it lasts.
Messi skipped the last Argentina game and now is missing tonight's game. Could be the turf, for sure… but he is no sure thing to play against us Wednesday.
"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
Just using the following story to highlight jloome's point on the chance, given ensco's latest, TFC's upcoming match against IMCF necessitates a nuanced defensive strategy besides any Vasquez vs. Messi in the middle, battle.
Who will be our Park to Pirlo or McNaugton to Messi, if warranted, in the upcoming match?
I do not think Oso is capable. Maybe Ibarra or Coello? Probably Ibarra?

Messi didn't travel to Atlanta - makes sense given the travel.
I think he starts on Wednesday, plays 60 then bows out.
Different circumstances? Different stadium?

Some fine shithousery from Atlanta's media people last night. Messi posted a picture of a Pizza he ordered in Miami on his Instagram, so Atlanta replied with a picture of a pie, its ingredients in an 'L'.
Not sure if this is the right place to discuss: in the end it didn't matter as Atlanta got lots of goals. But I think that game showed how embarrassing it is that MLS doesn't have goal line technology. Far worse than that, they don't necessarily have any cameras directly in line with the goal line. That's a cheap fix and their absence is utterly inexcusable.
