Luis Suarez talking about his near-crippling arthritis:

    https://twitter.com/dominikpiechota/...vGEG_XXCVS1bww

It says he has to take pills to function without a limp.

Clearly, built for a speed league like MLS, and sure to hold up to thousands of kilometres of travel, adverse weather, etc.

Those early season winter games will be awesome.

Suarez truly does seem like explicitly the kind of signing you should not make in this league. Unless they do so much game management with him that he's playing like 50% of minutes or less I just cannot see gas in the tank for a play off run

Nor surprising, I wonder if a move to the Big O is being discussed for the game? I was pleasantly surprised that when MLSE put out the Miami 5 game flex they cheapest ones were only $166, when I first ready I thought that price was per game. Considering some of the prices that tickets were selling for on Stubhub, southend for example were going for $300+per, they could have really jacked them up if wanted. One of the five game packs not only included the Miami game but the home opener.

Big O is under repairs this spring, I believe, so unlikely.

Not so sure it will be. Unless I missed it being deemed unsafe/condemned, I think it will be open for events in the foreseeable future. I think the latest fix plan has been scrapped/paused; last set of scheduled/type of repairs. IIUC, focus is no longer just on the ‘torn’ roof but now also on the cement ‘o-ring’ that supports it. Given this supposed revised need, the structure’s viability debate seems to be about economic cost verses it’s historic significance to the Montreal/Quebec community.

Can someone tell me the rationale why tickets for the Miami game are attracting such high sales of $500.00 or more? I read that Argentina play a few days before and a few days after the TFC game. Messi may or may not come but the odds seem low especially if the game is meaningless. Tickets that have been purchased cannot be refunded if he does not play. I just don't get it

The casual person buying tickets just because it's Messi, probably isn't aware of the potential Argentina games

How are people even selling these? I don't see our seats up on Ticketmaster yet.

The rumours are true. People are paying these prices.
Just be sure to delay when you'll be sending your seats if you're selling on StubHub (to say Feb 28, 2024) so that you don't get asked to upload your sold tix before they are actually available.
Good luck friends! Value is in the eye of the beholder!

I'm more of a CR7 guy myself, and I was lucky enough to see him practice and play at BMO with the Real Madrid in 2010.

Miami's exhibition game today against El Salvador is free on https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/messi...-mlssoccer-com

Decent club team against poor national team? Miami should walk it.

Two exhibitions for Miami, no goals.

They left Messi and Busquets in until the 64th min against Dallas last night, but still lost 1-0.

    Here come the Saudis...

I'm pretty sure mid season Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr are going to stomp Inter Miami in these friendlies.
Then it will be "Saudi league so much better then MLS"

Their handling of this preseason could be fucking disastrous.

They only had about 10K last night in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, because they allowed the non season seats to be bought up and sold by a promotions company, which promptly asked $600 a seat for an exhibition MLS game because of Messi.

Plus, it was raining. So people just stayed home.

They are wildly overestimating how well this is going to go if they don't think any reputation management is necessary.

Saudi will be embarrassing, barring them pulling off something miraculous. I hope they'll have enough sense to lace every single interview with "we're in pre-season, coming off two months off, so of course the results are largely meaningless to us. We'd just like people to enjoy a good show."

Over, and over, and over that needs to be the message.

I mean... just a dumb idea even going there. The upfront money from the Saudis must have been ludicrous.

    ‘Merica!

Paraphrasing Al Caholic: ‘Note to self… when in Miami keep a Messi jersey in car just in case this happens!’
