The data is only as good as this sentence "To make the video library useful for AI, the videos need to be labeled by humans to annotate events and actions, which is then used to train the AI."

Even then, you either say "Tell me KAUST, who do I need?" or "Using these variables, KAUST, who would be good for me?"

If you do a version of the 1st, ur relying upon the annotation setup to be omniaware of capability - in essence, you are doing a version of "so Bob, that person who might know somebody that could help us, who does he know?"

If you do the second, that's better...slightly. Its "Bob, that person you know who might know somebody, ask him if he has this" - you better know exactly what you mean by "this" though.

i.e. KAUST can help but we better know the analytical variables to be asking for from it.

Thanks for suggesting this. Came across this possible link yesterday as well after jloome's mention. Wasn't sure; had doubts since I believed the name was more a derivative of an individual in analytics. Nope! Essentially known sector quantity SoccerNet! So why now refer to them as Kausti? Perhaps the source themselves didn't know any better since a degree removed and just passing along info, just an innocent case of using some insider lingo or, unfortunately, an attempt at misdirection by jloome's contact? Certainly highlights another typical case of strange bedfellows in the quest of research funding? A couple of Italians, A Belgium University and the FNRS and then the KSA; King Abdullah University of Science and Tecnology? Have believed the horse left the barn some time ago on the topic, but for those who do care, this could be considered an example of TFC being in bed with the Saudis.

While that is fascinating, they specifically referred to him as our young new data analyst. And Kausti is a short form for given names in Indonesia and India.

Here's hoping you are right. That tech looked pretty dubious.

Did you read "Kausti" or hear it? I thought former academy kid Arthur Casupanan was the new(ish) Data Scouting specialist??

Much prefer this matter to involve an individual rather than a HAL. FWIW, besides India and Indonesia, Kausti as a derivative of a Surname is also found/used in Finland as well as Africa's Tanzania and Congo.

    All contact is by email.

So this was definitely someone else. Plus they said 'new' and Casupanan has been there for a couple of years now, at least.

I suppose it's possible it's his nickname for some reason. But they said he's a "new data analyst" and Casupanan is manager of data analytics.

I found a lead of AI and analytics on LinkedIn who started with MLSE ~3 months ago. Name doesn't match up with Kausti, but the title and start time maybe works. I won't share the name for their privacy, but you can find them on Linkedin pretty easily.
He hasn't posted about sports much - but does have one Linkedin post about football stadiums and analytics.

I'm told the Fede-Turkey link is legit, but "it will be a miracle if we pull this off."

Not sure what message I was supposed to get from this.

I suspect my source meant "Hallelujah" not "it'll take a miracle," but I'm just guessing based on how much of a general cancer they think he is.

In my line of work, when guys message this, it means: it's 99% done and I am expecting a big bonus for doing this amazing thing.

Yeah, getting the expectations raised for a possibility when you already know it's happening. That was an immediate thought, attaching a sense of victory to what really is a pretty bitter end.

I wouldn't be surprised if we heard something pretty soon.

EDIT: I should say that I pulled off this same scam repeatedly as an assignment editor with senior management, so I can't really complain. "Well, there may be a story there but I'll be damned if anyone's going to get it. But we're trying!" Meanwhile, the reporter already had the subject's life story, family photos.

I guess the Montreal match on the 20th (of deal not done by then) will be a sign. If Bernie pays, Turkey unlikely. If he is held out, it's probably close.

So I would assume that we will be shopping Sean Johnson in the offseason to someone within MLS. So the real question is, who do we go with?

From the 1 game Tomas Romero played, I really liked what I saw from him.. Do we give him a shot in more games going forward, or do we have someone in mind to sign?

I'm not so sure of that - his salary is about average for starting GK - his guaranteed is higher but its only 200K more.

Sort this page by position - its enlightening.

Trust me, an MLS team will trade for him if they need a keeper. Hes been in the league a while and is a decent goalie

IDK. Probably wrong, but... IIUC, isn't the median for all GK's signed in MLS at about in the 150K range? Also, isn't SJ's salary among the TOP 5 for MLS GK's? He's at about the $685K mark? That's doesn't seem average to me. Moreover, IIUC, the median for MLS starting GK's may be closer to the $400K range?

I hope they give Romero a shot. Now that we have nothing to play for this season, makes perfect sense to give him a shot to see what we have. Or at the very least boost his trade value, since one of Johnson or Romero need to go - having two keepers who receive international call-ups in a league that often plays through international windows is a horrible strategy, as you'll be forced to turn to a third stringer when it should not be necessary.

Typical Turkish rumouring. Chatter now has Besiktas engaging RW Nicolas Pepe; Some suggesting have already agreed to personal terms. Fede in limbo again?

Is it a weird correlation that, essentially, since Bradley got injured and was no longer in the line-up, Fede hasn't scored?
