Still wondering why Forrest wouldn't sell Laryea. Teams are limited to 7 loans for non-homegrown players. If they are not going to use Laryea, sell him now before he gets injured/old.
Otherwise, its a waste of a roster space for them.
Of course, this goes back to why did they sign him to begin with which seems to have been because they expected to sell their top RB at the time they were in the Championship, were not thinking they were going to go up & thus needed a championship level potential backup to the backup. They go on an unexpected run, get to the EPL, now stay there. They don't need Richie. We do but we are not going to pay that wage. At some point, NF are going to figure out them paying us to stockpile a player for them they will never use is a waste of resources.

I think they’ll loan him to us for six months more, but with a recall clause. When they get an offer that recoups their outlay they’ll sell, likely to a Championship team or other smaller league.
I also think he has vastly improved as a defender over the last 18 months.

Well... it seems Weghorst is also available!?

Wout Weghorst?! That's not even a real name...
weghorst would be great in mls imo
Yeah he’d be quality here. He’s not quite quick enough for the EPL but he’s a smart player, good in the air. I mean, Giakoumakis was available, one of the most consistent target strikers in Europe, and we didn’t bid on him, so I’m guessing Wout is off the table.
The most depressing aspect of my convos with my management source is how low TFC’s scouting and signing expectations have been other than the italians. They have no vision or confidence for going much outside MLS. It was frankly demoralizing.
Yikes. Probably more detail than you got into with your source but if we don’t have confidence in foreign signings and our MLS acquisitions appear to be limited to paying full price for known commodities.. how does TFC expect to get any sort of edge over the rest of the league when acquiring talent?
So Tomas Romero and Sean Johnson both got called up for international duty. Does that mean we may see Greg Ranjitsingh or Luka Gavran on the June 20th game?
Please no Weghorst, the guy cant score a goal to save his life.
I would assume Greg starting with Luka backing up, but who knows as Luka is far more game ready in my eyes, would love to see the kid get a shot. I am curious, is SJ even with the Reds right now, he was named to the US roster and they are training in LA right now, he was one of four GKs named to their precamp lineup?
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
I'm a Utd fan, been over a for a few games this season, you're spot on, all effort and that's it. The thing that struck me about him, besides his lack of pace, was how poor in the air he was. I noticed it even more when at the games, he's 6 ft 6 in, he was getting beaten in the air routinely by much smaller players. At a lower level than PL ,can he do it? his record is decent in dutch league, Germany and Turkey, so his record suggests he could. I wouldn't be keen on him coming to TFC though, and to be honest I don't see it happening.

MacNaughton, who made 31 appearances in all competitions for Toronto since joining the club in January 2022 from Pacific, said the trade came as a surprise.
“There was no real discussions. There’s no transparency from Toronto and I think that’s something that is really lacking in that organization,” he said.
Ouch.

Hmmm... is this an affirmation of or slight at Fede's concerns and comments?
“We have an identity of how we want to play and the players are very committed to it,” MacNaughton said. “Everybody knows their role and the strengths of this team. And it’s not just 11 players that are on the pitch that are performing, it’s the whole group of 25 players that all have a commitment to win and to help the team out, no matter what their role is.”
We has Mac Alister...but you English idiots wanted rooney. Lol
