I suspect it's cause those NBC's EPL numbers are better than last years ABC's et al's MLS numbers. Apparently, circa 200K avg. AMLSSP is about circa @1/2 to 1/3 more $ monthly subscription; though with twice more games available to view. I think there has been mention in the past that the belief is the EPL numbers are still better and that is why inquiring media minds would like to understand if Apple's numbers are now at least the same or better than ABC's. I would hope they are better than ABC's previous MLS ratings, yet would not expect them to be better than NBC's EPL viewership.

Disagree. Motives for a question does not change the fact of the answer. For instance, I am one of the 'foreigners' that still watch CNN on occasion for some reason. They have lower US avg. numbers than the EPL! People question/highlight their stat all the time. Why? Because it is relevant to themselves and their positions; whatever they may be. I suspect there are no North American questions, or perhaps a better word, concerns, involving the big sports and now international entities of the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL, because North America is where they originally developed, thrived and transitioned into world wide sector dominating sports bodies and brands. Soccer was/is a much bigger sport, for a very longtime, in the rest of the world first. Hence the final frontier growth potential interest and the dollar ROI hand wringing over this/our marketplace by MLS stakeholders and FIFA.

They have given every SSH in the league a subscription, of course their numbers will be good. These are already the passionate fans, and will watch away games, cold march night games etc. any ways. I wonder if they baked the subscriptions into our SSH price hike. Wouldn’t be surprised.

This makes intuitive sense to me. I feel like the frustration is that we have looked like crap while playing weaker teams.
