TFC is reportedly interested in Norwegian CB Sigurd Rosted. https://www.nettavisen.no/sport/nors.../s/5-95-837106
"Nettavisen is aware that Toronto FC is one of the clubs that wants Rosted's services. Although nothing is clear as of now, there are many indications that a transfer to the Canadian big club is now approaching. Several other foreign clubs have also shown interest in Rosted."
His contract expires in June, so should be available for a low fee.

Actual Nettavisen / TV 2 statement from...

Have to scroll down a bit to...
Rosted glipper for Vålerenga – kan ende i Toronto
One sentence translated...
"On Sunday, TV 2 reported that the 28-year-old... leaves Vålerenga and Brann and that he is on his way to MLS in the coming week".
Interesting (tar)get.
Tried to do some research...
Typical gamut of player reviews... good, bad and meh.
Of two interested Norwegian teams mentioned... IIUC...
Valerenga finished 6th last season in, and Brann has just been promoted into/up to, the Eliteserien; top national league.
When he started/subbed for Brondby, seems to have usually played within system hybrids of the 4-3-3; as a RCB or LCB.
Also, may have Europa League / Conference play experience.

In a moment of levity...
If Pascal Siakam is to be traded?
And any DP consideration set aside.
Perhaps he would consider/prefer a lateral move within the 'organization'?
As a striker/target man for TFC; an Andy Carroll 2.0?
Does seem to have some skill and a known love for 'The Beautiful Game'...

There is literally no downside in signing Sigurd Rosted. If he is good, that is incredible. If he sucks, we can just call him Roasted instead. A true win-win in my books.

I had the egg timer on and was waiting for that connection to be made.
In regards to the good, bad and meh...
Maybe the ugly? Seems he has been 'roasted' before.
Not sure that this video matches the tweet statement...

Well, if we need a starting quality number six?
A DP for that position?
Reports seem to suggest Roberto Gagliardini is on the table!
May even be had now or by next window w/free transfer?
Best 6 in SerieA?

There was a Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye.
The Vikings had some great names.

Apparently the small screen anchors there have reported that he's travelling to Canada this week. I'm going to pencil this one in as a "probably".
This seems premature.
The original Norwegian story hedges its bets heavily and says Toronto is interested and he's going to MLS... but it doesn't say he's going to Toronto.
I don't think they have a confirmation.
Maybe so, but hard to see.
I doubt highly -- as this story was probably written Friday or Saturday originally -- that they would bring Sean Johnson up for a Raptors game and a tour if they'd already signed a starter, and we've already signed a backup.
As he's a foreign player, he'd use an international roster spot as well.
Could be wrong, but seems more likely he'd go to Montreal.
Sigurd Rosted is such a great name.
Glad to see Bob and Bill moving quickly this offseason. I have a good feeling about this season!
SJ came for a visit on Saturday, the same day this story was published.
If he's being signed as the starter, and we've already signed a backup, then the Norwegian guy isn't being signed.
They wouldn't fly a keeper over for a visit unless they were intent on signing him. They wouldn't arrange him flying over BEFORE Johnson's visit.
But the timing of the story would require it.
So either they have zero confidence they're getting Johnson -- Unlikely given past history of these 'tours' -- or the club he's visiting isn't us.
Given that Montreal only has one keeper and Pantemis was re-signed to a new deal after being cut, which usually means less money, my guess would be that this dude is going to Montreal.
The Norwegian is a CB, not a keeper
I only know this cause I have a wife and daughter.

im itching for a confirmation for a signing- something should be confirmed around 12 PM -right?
if we get rosted and partner him with hedges, can't help but think about the philly backline, also composed of two giant CBs.
average height of rosted and hedges is 6 foot 3.
So we now are rumoured with players at most positions we’d need to fill. Just mid and FB spots at issue.
i think the mid depth roles will be filled via trade and young DP.
can't see akinola being here at the start of the season.
