    Thanks for the professional perspective.

That story looks like an attempt to get ahead of the narrative before pressers tomorrow.

I suspected so, yet was not sure enough to mention this myself.
I have been waiting for someone else to suggest that such a scenario/workaround is plausible.
Didn’t Aaron Long or another player with FA status just sign with a 1+1?

I'd still prefer to have another CB. Julio Cesar's time here proved that if the defense is terrible, it doesn't matter how good the keeper is because, if the defensive allows so many quality opportunities, the ball will still go in because it's unstoppable.

He got a two-year-deal but I haven't seen the breakdown anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised. They have cap space issues to deal with and are basically banking on moving a player or two still to be compliant. (I believe that was why Blessing came out of the blue, despite him re-signing with them just a few weeks ago).

Agreed... Loved having Cesar here for that time but if you recall more specifically, even for Brazil when Thiago Silva went down Brazil's defence went porous to the Germans in that 7-1 drubbing. The keeper can make some unbelievable saves but the net still is 8M wide and without competent CBs, I dont care how good you are... it will have an impact. Need another fast, competent CB and that midfield destroyer if we want to win.

Johnson and hedges combined wages will be very likely a couple hundred k under what we were paying Bono and mavinga.

Doyle pointed this out in his one piece on the Eastern Conference

Which is to say Alejandro Pozuelo is out of contract and I don’t expect he’ll be coming back
Surprised nobody on here has been calling for Poz to be our 3rd DP....guess its not the same as Seba.

Bono who played for Morocco born in Montreal would have been nice.

Hopefully Johnsons passing alone will improve possession and reduce turn over.

Someone mentioned not the best positioning- hopefully he still has solid reflexes.

I do get uncomfortable having most of impact players on the wrong side of 30- contract could easily turn.

    Thankful for a rumor

I'd be happy to put in back in our team with solid players surrounding him and him not requiring to play defensive mid- his passing could open up a lot him and VV would be too dangerous if TFC needed goals .

gks are a bit different tbh.

a 33 year old GK is still in his prime (as are defenders in early 30s, mostly).

we do need some younger signings for sure tho, hopefully can add some youth in CM and LB

You're quite fortunate, 30% of Ontarians don't have a family doctor - and not because they don't want one.

I am calling for it, if he will accept a 2 year deal. He is a perfect 10 for the Italians.

Oso, Poz, MB, in a MF trio, in a 4-5-1. Oso and MB play box to box. You just need the right striker there, and boom

That Davidson article said specifically Bob didn’t bring Romero here to start. Lol.

Buffery has been tweeting about Johnson too. TFC saying they are looking for a number one keeper and Johnson fits the bill. Sounds to me like it’s happening.

Well with preseason starting tomorrow, hopefully they release a preseason roster list like they did last year (I remember the whole speculation because they forgot to put the star next to Giovinco and everyone thought they secretly signed him for an hour). This way we can see the list of trialists at least.

Maybe Johnson gets announced tomorrow, just before they (if they do) release the list.

Sean Johnson (if it happens) is definitely because of Bob Bradley. His pull with American players can't be understated.

Not sure it fits BB’s expressed play style or formation intentions.
Still, if it is a question of adapt or die?
A viable ‘win now’ pitch path to MLS playoffs with the addition of ‘a Giroud’ at the one.

Pozo is going to have some of the same issues Oso had in terms of going to Europe now, so that won’t be straightforward for him (although I am sure he can get a decent 6 month gig).

2 years at 1.5M a year might be enough to get it done.

That would be a VERY slow midfield & we would be punished by counters.

That and I don't think MB can play box-to box.

    *********

Which reminds me.....we need speed in our midfield and probably some speed from our #2 CB.

    Good interview with insigne.

Sounds like he is very very happy here.

Lots of great things to say about the fans, the city and his life here.
