My Spidey-Sense is tingling in regards to Alan Sonora to MLS.
I suspect TFC is also in on the mix of possible club destinations.
Manning loves his Americans.

If they don't do ANYTHING this week, then I'm wondering what is going on.
If they don't do anything by the end of next week, then I'm going to be perturbed.
They've shown intent...keep that going.
Well the first sign will be who gets a medical in four days on Friday when they report or if not then who is on the pitch come next week in California. I suspect we will get some sort of pre-season roster released by then, suspect a bunch of TFC II types will also be on it with an eye towards a first team contract ie Kobe Franklin, Paul Rothrock, Reshaun Walkes, Julian Atobelli etc.
We also have to see how the GK situation shakes out, its far from settled in my eyes.

Aaron Long update: Expecting a decision soon.
Long has narrowed down list to two MLS clubs, offers from Liga MX’s Cruz Azul and CF Monterrey, and a few European clubs (including two in England).
Offers rejected from Saudi Arabia amid interest in Long as a free agent.
long with his injury history playing on turf every week is a disaster waiting to happen
Blew out his achilles in 20-21 and missed most of the year. He was not as consistent coming back, from everything I read last year.
Whoscored suggests he had an ok, season, with an average game rating of 6.76
It ranks him as very strong aerially and very weak in concentration, as well as weak on the tackle and weak at passing.
Going statistically, and on the fact that I generally respect their rankings, he's a lower-level TAM defender at best. Given that we've already signed Hedges, who has been pretty dominant in the air and is a decent tackler, it would seem moot to go after him.
The other central defender has to be mobile and fast, relatively speaking, as Hedges' speed is his only glaring area of concern. Given how often we had one defender left in isolation due to pressing high last year, that would be the priority, not another tower of power.
FWIW, i just checked and LAFC last offseason signed 6 players in jan/ feb, including 4 starters who played virtually every game, after adding 2 players in december.
they were in a similar position to us now last offseason (very talented core, not much depth and holes down centre of team). seems like the blueprint is being followed in terms of adding MLS vets in a similar way they did.
Short teaser list of one of Manning's favourite fishing ponds... SerieA- all are of 'out of contract/no transfer fee' availability.
As of today most still available?

Someone posted this on Reddit and the more I look at it, the more I'm down with Saeter and moving Mr. Akinola.
Just saw a Twitter post that we’re trying to sign Sergio Ramos.
I find it odd that some TFC supporters have taken to making up fake rumours on twitter while trying to be ironic or something.
The last few years has really broken some people.
Moot point since we declined his option, but apparently the purchase option on Auro for Santos that they didn't activate was $2 million.

Transfer fee too rich for Besiktas.

He is “out of our league”. Biggest stud at the WC. I sat with Korean supporters in Doha - they had a song for him, a version of “will you marry me?” In Korean. All the men were singing it too, it was hilarious.
If he is in MLS, this guy should be in LA, big Korean community there, with a movie deal.

There is a reasonable flip side to that coin.
By that metric, Toronto/TFC could be a main ingredient in that mix.
Yep, in sheer numbers, it is the US; LA, then NYC, then DC.
Yet, per capita, IIUC, Canada is about on par with America in that nationality's diaspora.
Ontario, then BC; with Little Korea- Seaton Village, as well as, North York- Willowdale/Newtonbrook being our city's enclaves.
^I would like to be wrong. We do have many Koreans in the GTA. Just from an amusement POV, getting Cho in here would be outstanding.
