    Happy Holiday to everyone.
Just putting down these two distraction notions for anyone who may want to pick-up and discuss...
1/ An unlikely signing due to the obstacle of DP remuneration aside, would Guillermo Ochoa have been an above average goalkeeper candidate for MLS/TFC?
Recently went from Mexican- Club America to Italian- Salernitana.
    Also,
2/ Not sure if this candidate has already been mentioned, Argentinian goalkeeper Augustin Rossi for MLS/TFC.
Reported to have signed a Pre-Contract with Flamengo from Boca Juniors; was rumoured to have interest by Italy's Inter.
As well, an unlikely signing due to the obstacle of being a HIGHTAM signing; perhaps even DP.

An MLS stalking horse situation by agent, self static or is Alexander Callens actually considering a return to Peru?

FWIW, a few days ago, a very unreliable 'Toronto' source, deemed so by community consensus, suggested again that TFC...

Please save us from the rumours of the cretan Ivy69, haha. If you want to make up plausible rumours with no basis in reality (as opposed to implausible rumours with no basis in reality) you can easily do it without having to find them on a tfclive# search.

The good news is that the next 6 weeks should bring 5 or 6 new signings. I expect that if Mavinga is the starting centre half we need, he’ll be the next announcement. After all, how long can he be left in limbo?

How about anyone... everyone... someones... of the still needed ones?

    Like...

    Moses Ramierez - GK
    Thomas Deng - CB
    Ronaldo Matarrita - LB
    Sam Adekugbe - LB
    Nouhou - LB
    Ellyes Skhiri - D-MID
    Luis Chavez-D-MID
    Andrija Zivkovic - RW
    Kasper Dolberg - FW-STKR
    Shuto Machino - FW-STKR

    With Stocking Stuffers/honourable mentions...
    Sergio Rochet - GK
    Daniel Amartey - CB

let's stop posting rumours from crappy sources and stick to ones with credibility for transfer news

quality over quantity, even if it means this board gets boring
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

    Wait a minute.
    Exactly what is the point?
    By definition…
Aren’t rumours always provided by crappy sources?
Whereas credible ones only offer supposition?
I believe that is the nuance; isn’t it?
    There is a difference; no?

One hopes the quality of the knowledge of what might be happening is higher on this board than a random twitter search chock full of (what I personally find to be the strange activity of) TFC phishing from one’s parent’s basement. If the two end up to be the same thing what is the point of coming here for TFC news?

I’m always glad of the postings of those who stay away from totally baseless transfer stuff and have a sense of the credibility of what’s put out there. Or who know something either because they have actual inside information, or because their buddy works with the cousin of so-and-so who knows something concrete, or has a friend in the TFC office, or someone happens to be at a restaurant where player Y, soon to be signed, was unexpectedly found dining with Mr. President. Over the years there have been so many avenues to finding out about what is actually going on. But if it’s a game without any possible basis in reality, for me it gets boring in a compulsive way. It’s okay to eat sand, as you say, but you shouldn’t feed it to others.

The fun of roller blades is something to do with proximity to the real.

I'd love a credibility tier list as some other places have because yeah, posting random twitter eggs saying mbappe is doing a medical in Toronto next week or whatever other just baseless, made up claims coming from accounts with no history of credible news isn't adding anything. A list would help people know the difference and know who has been reliable or not in the past

Rollerblades was based on a tweet from a staff member about a new signing.

The Rollerblades was an offer from somebody to head on down & and look around for our new signing.

The situation & the offer are legendary on this board.

I think the "I saw this guy at my restaurant" story from this year is also going to become the stuff of legend.

Baseless twitter meandering demeans this board's capabilities. We should strive to do better.

He's just making stuff up to try to own will Forbes by proving anyone can make stuff up.

    Please dont post him here.

There's a difference between a low quality source that mostly us wrong and someone who is openly engaging in making shit up to prove a point.

If some twitter presence wanted to do something useful, as opposed to just making stuff up, they would figure out (i) where every TFC player's spouse is from, and (ii) every decent world footballer who has a wife or whose wife's family is from somewhere in or near the GTA.

Hedges being an obvious example here. Also Otto Porter Jr for the Raptors.

Not from the GTA (I think she’s from Michigan), but she has a close friend from college who lives in the GTA now. They were seen at the Leafs game together a month ago.

Becoming frustrated and impatient all other clubs are positioning to make moves TFC sits quietly I guess waiting for the all important 2nd week to make something happen.

Does truly feel our management isn't as on top as other teams in other leagues

There have been so many bad signings, bad trades, and bad contract extensions since 2018, especially while Curtis was here, I feel that mgmt has become very cautious before entering into a transaction.

But let’s remember Curtis himself was excessively cautious or otherwise slow to make moves. And then, when those moves finally happened they were awful.

If there is one thing I wouldn’t accuse our current management team of this point it’s rushing. At certain point they just need to pull the trigger on some things. Otherwise the “choice” being made is to stay below the cap and keep TFC under manned.

we've signed a starting top end MLS calibre CB who had interest from a ton of other teams, tied down our best midfielder to a new contract (despite interest from abroad) and added CAM depth (and a backup GK on a cheap contract).

it's probably been the best window so far in MLS.

there's still a ton to do but to say they arent being proactive is a bit silly.

    ^This.

Management has been fairly active so far. Plus, we almost never see big moves until January anyway (last year's pre-signing of Insigne being an exception).

She is from Rochester NY, and has some sort of other connection in the GTA (friend or other relative). It was in the twitter comments on the Bogert piece about Hedges at the Leaf game I thought - a 30 second search didn’t find it

I mean they've had since July 7th to replace poz and establish some offensive identity.

    Kidding, right?

Maybe just stay off the boards until February when the roster is set.

And hey if it's not 95%+ set by then I'll be right there with you.

About 8 1/2 weeks to sign at least 6 starting and/or legitimate rotational players before the season starts?
Therefore, about 1 a week; announcements pending and expected.
Lets see if TFC, the firm of Bradley, Bradley & Manning, delivers on what was at least implied or outright promised to SSHs.
    Depending on one's own perspective.
Find myself wobbling at keeping the faith.
