we need midfield depth so we can rotate out cms.
the DP should be a striker tho.
we need someone close to the same level as insigne and bernardeschi so they'll be on the same page.
It was also me. I had the same view as you. I was worried Oso maybe didn't like how he was handled in his contract year. Turns out it didn't matter.
You know (this is not directed at you at all Mr I)... a poster can say something worth talking about and still be "wrong".

I know. My wife will affirm to anyone that will listen… I am wrong (almost) all the time!

Oso mentioned during the World Cup some things happened that made him decide that staying with TFC was the right option for him and his family. I wonder if that means there were conversations with potential teams and the money/opportunity just didn’t line up with what TFC could offer.
Not sure that's true. He always played a ton until last year when he was rushed back from a rare more serious injury, which he then aggravated. This season, he's been healthy (just not trusted) until recently. Not sure if it's related to his issue last season.
I honestly don't know what it is with that guy. He's a bull on the pitch but any time he's playing under more pressure, he folds. I still think he would light up MLS. He's built for it, and it would be a more relaxed environment for him.
I love Belotti’s style of play, perfect for this team that needs a good reference point up top to draw defenders in the box and hold up the ball.
But… IIRC there’s some sort of personality conflict with him and the rest of our crew? Also, he seemed very much like Borre in that he wanted to explore every other option on earth before coming here. I have no interest in anyone who takes that stance and think best to stay clear, even if he has a change in hart.
This is a great take on his situation; one with which I am in agreement.
I would be torn between the availability of a Belotti or a Jorginho.
Probably, for now, leaning into the midfield as the more pressing and difficult of issues to truly address.
But it would be a seesaw for me in such a circumstance.
Yes, absolutely, from the financial perspective the move would not make any/initial sense.
Yet, I have been involved in business long enough to understand money is not the only motivating factor to engage.
Although it is usually the main and most important one.
That a colleague, ally or partner could walk across the street to a competitor.
Not or just for the money but on occasion because they felt (personally) aggrieved, in some serious manner.
Obviously, in the end, Osorio was not.
He is/was a hard read for me.
Did not telegraph any intentions other than keeping his options open.
But I share the view of some that something is/was amiss in the TFC room.
Whether that involves the dynamic of MB and BB is not clear; though reasonably suspected.
Also, if that relationship really matters or can be respectfully overcome/overlooked by team members.
Although, I suppose it at least involves MB given how what happened to Lawrence unfolded.
I think for Oso, he can make as much or more money post career in Toronto vs elsewhere. Especially when we start winning again. The only thing i was worried about was whether he felt the need to validate his game in Europe... but the man scored at the Azteca, doesn't get much more rewarding than that. (I know champions league but realistically was he going anywhere that would have given him that) If he stays healthy, he will get a Gold Cup run and hopefully Copa in 2024. So lots of reasons to stay.
As I've said before, the DP striker position should be reserved for one man only and that's Wout. He would kill it in MLS.
I agree. It’s a thing one sees less and less in MLS because of rising budgets but it’s still a thing. Finding a coherent eleven within major salary disparity is difficult. Insigne and Berna together make more than the entire roster of all but three teams. They’re used to a certain level. To get the most out of them over a full season they need to play with players of similar awareness/quickness of thinking.
Wout Weghorst...
Not sure he is out of contract this summer.
IIUC, was under contract with Burnley until summer of '25?
Perhaps contract was voided or renegotiated cause of their relegation?
Believe loaned on a free to Bestikas?
Think his salary is about 3.75M USD?
Solid performance at WC22.
I'm for TFC kicking those tires; making a phone call at the very least.
Ahh you're right, his loan ends this summer.
Mavinga teasing us again?
Back with TFC?
I think so; hope so.

^I would have preferred Doneil Henry. But hope I am wrong.
I have no problem cheering for Chris, easy guy to root for.

Social media chatter about likely being a Philadelphia Union replacement for a possible Kai Wagner move.
Yet, maybe a TFC candidate; for LB?

I’ve been expecting him to re-sign and be paired with Hedges. And with our third and fourth centrebacks same as last year. Which I think is okay. Replacing two keepers, two starting centre backs, two starting outside backs (if Layrea leaves) and adding a sometime starting #6 all at once is too much for anything but an expansion side.
