even if it was justified, we don't need to see the same shit every day.
and im not related to anyone at tfc and have already said id be royally pissed off if we don't get all our business done before the season.
doesn't mean i have to post the same worry and shit every day, that doesn't help anything.
I'm going to address this once because, frankly, an intervention is needed and I don't see anyone else doing it.
There is a VAST difference between voicing concern and constantly posting doom and gloom. We don't need VAR to see that we're past that with some posters here. There are better places to write these thoughts down, but if you want to have any sort of nuanced conversation, it doesn't belong here. If you need to write some of these in a diary, or want to start a blog or something, that's fine. But when you post something on a forum, you are EXPECTING a response and interaction, and you do NOT get to say "well you have to engage with my post positively" and THEN accuse others of calling you out on your behaviour. This is not an attack on your PERSON, but it is an indictment of behaviour that doesn't add anything to the discussion.
I know VDW didn't work out, but I actually thought he did well on the pitch, despite it being an awful season for us. If he arrived a year earlier, maybe the whole thing would have gone better.
VDW is a great example of a scouting department putting on the horse blinders when it came to off-field issues suggesting a sagging career trajectory. Red flags all over it. Said they knew better and all was fine, history provided them wrong.
They were clearly hypnotized by the pedigree / athletic potential. Cause if he used it, he would have wrecked MLS like nobody’s business.
He was lazy, disinterested trash for TFC while sitting on all the talent in the world. Some guys just don’t have the burning desire to play and keep up in the pro game.

Letting Beita go and replacing him with VdW might have been Vanney’s worse personnel move. Much more money was spent on the position for less effective play both defensively and going forward. Not to mention open aggression in practice. We were the worst off for it for quite a while given that not only was Beitashour better all around but he also worked much better with Morrow and our central defence. The best that can be said about VdW was that he was adequate at times on the pitch (but not deserving of his salary). Big mistake especially given that we already had the right-back we needed.
Note what else has been done.
The second thought.
A benefit of the doubt given.
A heart. The beat.
Haven't sold it, didn't trash it, just offered it; FWIW.
Hopefully the first notion is accurate and soon.
Fingers crossed if/that any moves involving the second notion afford TFC real roster returns.
BTW... nature of being a messenger... maybe getting shot.

^^This is not the way I remember the vdW episode.
It was so frustrating. He was really strong in CCL, but he was part of everything going pear shaped after that. But I don’t think I (or anyone) thought he would be anything other than a starter in 2019. The blowup with Vanney came out of nowhere.
It was actually Exhibit A for me on how hard it is to translate success elsewhere into this league. The endless long flights, midseason doldrums, games at Dallas and Denver or wherever one after another, to play in half empty stadiums in extreme heat with bad grass… lots of guys can’t fight through it. They get pissed. I felt Insigne went through it too this past year. We always have to wait and see with those types of guys. It is hard.

Re.: MLS U22 Initiative.
If TFC is considering this go-to-pitch mechanism, hope they may also engage Andrea D'Amico.
He may be able to offer some SerieA insight.
Does represent Juve's Nicolo Fagioli.
Josef Martinez.
Difficult.
The Manager's nightmare.
A missed opportunity?
I think he would have been a fine fit between Lolo and Fede.
Especially at the apparent price he is available to be had at.

I'm a huge raptors fan - and don't even worry about masai and bobby- they've proven they know what they are doing haven't had to use buy outs or fire coaches - raptors staff has been poached from the raptors coaching tree.
Not always negative- more worried about my investment and my team who wanted to be the first MLS team to win champions league- I want this vision to come true - its been backwards since
If anyone has an issue I believe you can easily ignore or block.
A new day tho- any rumors or confirmed signings?

You're right, I'll just put you on ignore.
But before...
I love that you use the raps as an example of something you're happy with....thry haven't won a playoff round since the 19/20 season and are on course to miss the playoffs 2/3 years with an incredibly poorly constructed roster.
Just.. incredible.

If we could try him out for a month or so for cheap and let him and his wages go if it wasn’t looking good I’d be really interested to see the results. But given Bradley’s long “we need the right - and I mean right! - kind of guy” speech at the recent press conference… and his gutting of the team last season to begin to get the right kind of guys, even if it meant playing teenagers with little experience out of position and getting killed on the pitch - well, I’d say no chance in hell Martinez is going to be an option of any kind. Maybe better not to bother thinking about what’s impossible.
Also, I get the feeling Phil Neville and Miami are on the clueless side about these sort of dynamics and will be hit and miss - or just bad - for some time in the league despite spending a ton. Martinez to Miami makes sense in the scheme of things but to Toronto not much at all.
About the question of who will work between the two Italians I wouldn’t be surprised if that is not going to be an easy fit. Even Layrea who is brilliant getting forward on the right was not working very well with Bernadeschi. (If they don’t get that together it’s going to be a big waste of Layrea and his hefty salary.) The right guy, character-wise aside, I’m not sure who that is except that if the 9 doesn’t have the respect of both wingers he ain’t going to work out… and so far none of our strikers have it.
