Bernardeschi may be a better fit for Toronto than Insigne was based on player personality - damn do I love him already

    Appreciate this guy.
Felt like he should have been MOTM - banger and assist all in one half

Went to buy his jersey, and was told they don't have em, weren't sold out, they trying to figure out how to fit his name on the jersey LOL

Shouldn't they figure this out before advertising? After his banger made me want to get his jersey

You could see how infectious his enthusiasm is towards rest of the team. Great player to have on the field and locker room.

After a very small sample size he has the potential to be one of, if not the greatest player in club history. His left leg is money

His left leg and his personality are going to be very popular around here - he'll be the captain in a couple years if what he's shown in these past couple weeks flourish

    Agree!
And a secondary effect should be to motivate Insigne more to give his best, to "keep up" with him....
I mean exaggerating a little bit, but thinking about worldwide name recognition, Berna is a nobody compared to Insigne.

What is your definition of success?
A: For me, success is when you feel well about yourself, as in an all-around feeling of well-being. It’s important that I work and that I have hobbies; however, the most important thing is the feeling of well-being, loving oneself, doing good to others, and being well aware of the kind of man that you are. If you have a good feeling of well-being, this is the biggest success that one can reach and it has a far-reaching impact on all areas of your life.
Amazing.....I actually needed to hear that today....amazing.

Changing an agent at this moment is not a good sign.

Given some of the promise of TFC's offensive moves in the last two seasons, how this situation has unfolded is so koo-koo in the coconuts. If Fede's change of agent is taken for the sign it likely represents, then it truly is...

The juxtaposition of these two images captures the angst of the matter between the two perfectly.

Cute, but not really accurate art project. BB has a lot more self-confidence than this would suggest.

Given the blowup between Berna and BB, and given that his pay isn't over the top like Insigne's, a transfer out is highly likely IMO.

The reports of Berna's vape pen antics, his toxic relationship with BB, plus not getting along with the North American players suggests that (while talented) he is a proverbial locker-room cancer and will need to be cut for the team to be healthy.

I remain a touch skeptical that we *can* move him away, but that agent change sure suggests both parties are agreed we'll try

If he moves, I'm sure it'll be a loan where we cover most of the costs, as is seemingly always the case with us.

I just think if we move past all those things about locker room dynamics and even his considerable talents, his fit for this team is extremely poor. The guy who we pay 8 million dollars a year (or 16 if they are hiding the other half) is criminally under utilized.

You sign Lozenzo Insigne, you need a) a real striker who can actually put the ball in the net. B) at least one midfielder who can find LI in advanced positions. C) Ideally, someone on the opposite side of the field who plays in an advanced position and is incredibly fast so when the defenders overload LI, a simple switch of the field punishes the other team with a player who can get towards goal in a hurry.

Bernie is, at best, a square peg in a round hole at any of these things. And I think he’s talented and like his game but it’s just the wrong fit with us committed to LI.

To be clear, none of this is meant to absolve Bob (he needs to go).

Agreed. He was signed for marketing purposes ("let's get another Italian!!!"). Not only should Bob probably go, but Manning should focus on the Argos and MLSE hire a proper football president.

An absurd or a not so absurd take? Intellectually amusing nonetheless! Loosely fits the Athletic narrative...

    EDIT: BB's valuation: MAK>Fede?

^You do have to wonder though... why not Bernie. If you say should be a Canadian, then it should be Osorio? I actually don't have an axe to grind with MAK, it is not his fault someone wanted to pay that for him. I would tell any player to take it, just be aware of the repercussions now set on expectations. And the criticisms come when they are not me. And that above all is the Bernie and LI issue. They took the money, they are in the limelight, can't say woe is me. I do want them to say here's how we can play better and then back it up.

A little bird tells me there has been coach discussion about using him as a striker, but that's all they knew. I mean, I think it's the only possible solution.

Just spitballing. If there is consideration of Fede as the stkr, then I think BB should try for a half putting Lollo in the hole as the sstkr with Raoul at LW, Kobe at LFB and with Richie at RW, JMR at RFB; using a double pivot of MAK and Brandon?

It's not exactly reassuring that it took Bob this long just to discuss something we surmised was the main solution weeks ago.
