JMR definitely shows the most defensive acumen, strange he’s not getting starts.
I have a feeling his thigh is still tweaked somewhat which is why we're mostly seeing him in second half.

True, but both players have shown they are better at the opposite positions. I have had issues with both, but Nelson is fast and is a decent presser. Kerr is a progressive passer and seems to be quicker to process the game

As they need him to continue to learn, putting him in occasional other roles, like this one, lets him concentrate in a game environment on pressing, marking, tackling. Plus, San Jose is quick in the middle.
