Stephen Hart finds a way to get inexpensive players to play effectively. TFC has their president trawling through Transfermarkt looking for out-of-contract players regardless of cost (instead of hiring somebody for $100k to $200k who doesn't need to trawl through Transfermarkt because he already knows it by heart, and knows the hidden gems and how to get them).

Woohoo Oso. Nobody start the car regardless of what happens. Just slink out of here as quietly as you can.

Could very easily have gone to penalties, which is not what TFC wanted.

But they made sure it did not, did just enough but what a roller coaster of a match.

It didn't because we had 4 quality players on the pitch (I still think Shaff as left forward is a better option) that HFW couldn't match.

We don't beat Forge with that performance, let alone L'ImpAct.

BTW, looking at this chart, the next round is at BMO.

Bradley, Jiminez and Petrasso all looked good on the goal, not just Shaff and Oso. One Soccer just showed the replay

After watching past the end of the game, I definitely agree. Wheeler way better commenting outside of the game, rather than in-game.

From what i was able to catch of the game, not an impressive performance from TFC. But the worst player in the game was the score keeper who awarded both TFC goals to the wrong players.

Good night folks, it's been fun chatting.

Thanks very much for the TFC app. My brain is so fried these days I forgot about the game even though I remembered it this morning. The notification of game start from the TFC app saved me. So I stayed late at work to watch it, rather than being stuck cycling home at the time and missing most of the game.

It fits his style a bit better. I think he's good at sharing hot takes and creating conversation, which isn't really what you want in the middle of the game.

He is a disaster in game. It’s too bad - I like him, but when he is play by play I literally yell at him to shut up. Then my son tells me just to turn the sound off…

yes. And he’s a very decent human being, or seems like it. But play by play is an art. And it involves letting the game talk for itself.

Adam Jenkins definitely has the superior voice to Wheeler and that makes all the difference. I want someone who is easy on the ears, not that guy who sits at the bar and tries to make sure everyone can hear just how much he knows about sports.

Yes I agree. His mic was way too quiet, and maybe he also needs some public speaking tips. (Does somebody know if Jimmy has sounded better on other occasions?) But he has the demeanour, vocabulary etc. to do a decent job.

I just watched the highlights - did we seriously almost lose this match?! And Bradley's reaction to their goal as he stands in no man's land... wow. Just wow.

The highlights wouldn’t show it, but Bradley was dominant. His pressing in the first 20 minutes created havoc. Worth finding a replay just to watch. Masterclass.

Trust the minds in this thread if they rated his showing. Bradley has felt very binary to me this season, he’s either been on or off.

Yes we seriously almost did, hope we can all see and finally put to rest this fantasy of the youths in this organization being any part building success .

    I think this is unfair.

We still won the game and there are some youth players who will undoubtedly be a useful part of TFC going forward.

Now that said, if you told me there was no point of fielding a mainly youth-based 11 in the long run because development is painful and if they work out they usually leave for greener pastures, I would agree.

But I don’t think anybody is under any illusions. Bob is using borrowed time to run these guys out until we rebuild our roster over the next few windows. To me, this is better than the alternative of rushing into signings or watching MLS lifers like Nick DeLeon.

We’ll see if it all works out but at face value it’s a reasonable given the hand we were dealt (bad Curtis contracts and an aging core)

I think Bob is giving them every opportunity to show that they either belong on the team as a reliable player (McNaughton) or they don't (Nelson). At least unlike in the past with guys like Chapman & Fraser, these players are getting more than their fair shot at making a case for themselves.
