Trying to do too much. A lot of poor positional discipline today from the midfield three. Bradley talked in preseason about getting Pozuelo to be more positional and role disciplined, but all three of them have been terrible today.

If i were BB i would make all the players run the beep test 20 times across BMO Field, very poor performance, similiar to Disney Miracle and Herb Brooks

Dare I check the stat line and check how many recoveries Priso made in 10 minutes vs Bradley in 80?

Priso cleverly wins the ball with a block out, doesn't get called. We've lacked that bite all game.

Priso has made like 5 tackles in 15 minutes. He needs to be starting.

Priso cleverly wins the ball again, beats the press with a clever chip. How can the kid be denied more time?

If Bob absolutely needs Michael starting, Osorio or Pozuelo need to shift to the right to accomodate Priso.

Good news for today: Luca Petrasso
Bad news for today: Everything else, including losing some faith in BB that he comprehends the problems (including his son).

Now let's see if anyone in the media has the foresight and testicles to ask why Ralph Priso isn't starting over Michael Bradley. We can't have two Jonathan Osorios on the pitch at the same time, and Joso is the better of the two, not MB.

I dunno, seems kind of obvious at this point that we're a one-dimensional possession team without a proper DM. Can't play wide against a team playing gegenpress unless someone is shielding the backline.

That was really disappointing after the positive performance last week. Ughhh hopefully can stabilize this until and hold on for dear life until reinforcements come in July.

I agree. For left-sided player, Petrasso looked really comfortable on his right foot. Made several nice first-time balls on his right. Got some speed too.

Oh, no discussion of the game with Kilbane, I notice. We won't get an honest appraisal from him until halfway through the Impact game. I wonder why.

Ultimately, this week isn't as telling as next week. Does he start Priso at DM or do we get another week of delusional belief that two central pivots will work against a counter.

The alternative is we play with a flat back three, ala Nashville, with O'Neil, Mavinga and Salcedo.

If we absolutely had to, I would try this… honestly it’s hard to put together a starting 11 without a glaring obvious hole in it.

    ——JJ————
    ——-Poz———-
    Nelson—-Priso—Bradley—Osorio
    Petrasso—Salcedo—O’Neil—JMR

Got a couple questions for you about the media, Mr. Loome - Why do you think our local reporters are scared to be critical of this team? Does social media play a factor? Do reporters risk being frozen out by the team and players?

Only real positives today were Petrasso, Jimenez, Priso's cameo and Salcedo not getting sent off (lol)

All the kids that played last week were notably worse today. As long as this is our roster, we're gonna have to get used to the fact that there are going to be growing pains with them and sometimes they just won't have it.

I don't know that Bob had a great approach for today. Just for example, we know we're playing a pressing and counter-attacking side that is going to move the ball up as quickly as possible - wouldn't Mavinga's speed have helped today? I get he was unhappy with his performance last week but I'm not sure this was the right opponent for a change.

I don't know about our use of Pozuelo either. He's just not very involved, something has to change there.

Pretty big letdown after a promising away performance last week.

Going 3 at the back might be the move. Less defensive responsibility for JMR and Shaff/Petrasso would obviously be a plus. Move Poz up to play off of JJ.

Also, what happened to Perruzza? Two straight games where we could of used another striker up top and he is nowhere to be seen.

Yeah I would be interested to see how we looked with something like this:

    -----------Jimenez------------
    -----------Pozuelo------------
    Shaff---Bradley---Oso------JMR
    -------------Priso--------------
    ---Mavinga--Salcedo--O'Neill--

    - Bradley is finished as an MLS starter. He's going to be 35 in July... For context he's the same age as Benoit Cheyrou when he was here.
    - We just don't have the depth in midfield or outwide. Bill Manning has failed in his time in Toronto FC. It's going to be a long year if we don't bring in another top attacker, a midfielder and some backline depth.

That's mostly what it is, these days. We used to have rules about this shit, which was "you'll run out of threats and positive coverage before we run out of ink." But reporters aren't backed by their organizations anymore because management at media is no longer former journalists.

Scored in three of four preseason appearances and not a sniff so far.

When the kids were struggling early, I thought maybe they'd put Jimenez wide right and Peruzza up the middle, as Nelson dithers too long on the ball. No such luck.

A game to celebrate being back in the stadium.

TFC were the better playing team in the first half.

Second half was an exercise in damage control. 6 minutes of extra time got a laugh.

Petrussa and Neil and Priso and Jimenez. The rest nobody will care about in 4 weeks.

This is not meant to be anywhere derogatory but he does look like an underage boy playing among fully grown professionals. Red bulls were just feasting on the opportunity presented to them.

Oh I was at the game today like I have been since 2007 , like I said calling a 17 old kid garbage is something really . Hopefully you just watch the game and are nowhere near a soccer field coaching kids .
