The window opens tomorrow. This is basically, to borrow an extreme cliche, the calm before the storm.

Fab tweeted the same thing. Looks like he's coming.

So, is Bernie his nickname on here? Bernardeschi is a lot to type in when we see excited by something he does on the field.

The question is Are we excited that Bernardeschi is coming in? Or are we sad that Reading beat us to Hoilett signature

He's about 2.5 years younger than Poz.

Berna for $7M is pretty reasonable. He's a higher pedigree player than Poz ever was. Also not a huge overpay, which makes it easier if we ever want to sell him off.

K, thanks. One of the reporters said Poz is 30 and Bernie is 29, and I didn’t bother to check.

Berna attributes (fast, good dribbling, good shot) are effective as hell in MLS.

Really looking forward to seeing him play

Hmm, might have to pass on him then and see whose next. I’m guessing Manning is using last names, more professional 🤦🏼

It's fair to be excited but I wouldn't go into this expecting him to be beating many guys with speed. At best, his pace is average for his position.

The best thing I can say about him is that he's versatile (either side, further up or back) and puts in a shift. Not the most flattering description but I certainly expect him to be out there working for the team, which is sometimes half the battle with "star" DPs.

I'd also be more comfortable with him over a free kick than Petrasso.

yeah he's no walcott, but a decent dribbler, decent defensively and a good shot.

Not too enthused about Berna but I can't deny he would be a better fit in BB's system than Poz was

I almost wonder if a player of Bernardeschi's profile would be better suited as an 8. He is 99% likely to be a RW here, but his work rate and technical ability seems like a perfect midfield profile. Kind of fits the same mold as three of my favorite players of all time, Philipp Lahm, Joshua Kimmich and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

I've watched two highlight videos of Bernie - one from his time with Fiorentina and one from with Juve. I don't think we'll be able to rely on him to be a goal scoring threat. That said, his defensive play, willingness to track back and dribbling should still be good for the team. If anything - betting on Jimenez to win the golden boot could be a good bet. Between Insigne and Bernie putting balls in the box for him, he should feast.

It’s funny that the guy who claimed to see Bernardeschi having dinner with Manning in Yorkville was totally right.

Which is also the exact same way the Insigne rumors started. Except someone in Italy spotted Insigne and his agent with Manning somehow.
