I’d be happy with a very good centre-half and a very good RB. We probably aren’t going to make the playoffs, let’s see what JJ can do with proper service.
If we go grab a DP striker, since we have no defenders, we might as well play the foosball 2-5-3 formation. I mean we basically already do, since we've been playing midfielders/wingers as fullbacks all season
With that said, I don't feel like we need one with Jesus here already. Sure, his production has dipped, but he's also had more defensive focus placed on him and less support (i.e. getting rid of Poz, playing with kids up front). Throw him in with Insigne and Bernadeschi and it should do wonders. Last game, he was coming so deep to collect the ball at times, give him less work to do and just focus on scoring with the other players doing the creative work. Let's see how that goes. Granted, Manning might not want to do the wait and see. I really wanted to see Poz with Insigne. That never got a chance

To make a run at the playoffs we need at least a CB and a RB. We could survive without a DP striker but we cannot survive with this crop of defenders.

A role player at juve came here at age 28 7 years ago and turned in some of the most dominant seasons in MLS history.

I agree. I have watched almost all his games with Juve, all his games with the Azzurri and many of his games with Firenze. I always felt he was never utilized properly at a Juve and very little patience was shown to him there. His last season with Firenze when he was the main man there, he shone. I think this is a perfect spot for him and expect great things when he gets to start and play week in and week out without the pressure of worrying about being replaced by another super star on the team. He is a strong guy who can handle the physicality of MLS. He is also a fitness freak who can play all kinds of minutes. I love this move.Bernadeschi will be better than Insigne. Calling it now

Anyways, so do we have any full backs and defenders tonight? By full backs I mean actual real full backs that have played there before this year. And CBs, do we have any? Am assuming Mavinga is out, and we are now left with complete rubbish journeyman O'Neil and tries hard csl'er Macnougton?
Am assuming the Italians aren't playing (looking forward to them no doubt) and its another trouncing tonight. I.e it gets worse before it gets better.

How about Dejan Lovren? Was on a Russian league team..is a very good defender, still in great shape...still playing with the CRO NT....he'd be an immediate upgrade and best defender in all of mls. Speaks great english too so will adjust no problem..and the Croatian community here (in particular us Dinamo fans) will welcome him with open arms.
The big signings are exciting…yet, the lineup against Montreal will be 8 kids, Bradley, JJ and a goalkeeper.
On the bright side, at least Nelson is suspended for this one.
