Insigne day is here!
Insigne day is here!
Can't be worse than Beckhams kid at Miami II. I dug into their stats a little and he's averaged 60% or less completed passes in five of his last six starts. He's the only player on that team below 70%.
Also no assists, no goals, few touches. But still starting.
Neville's kid is actually improving though.
Serves up a decent cross.
Criscito has posted his goodbye to Genoa on his insta. Wonder if he's on the private plane with Insigne today
^mutual release on the Criscito contract, so presumably no transfer fee
Jloome is absolutely correct that sports media engages in speculation, and he knows that from first-hand experience. However, the Athletic has a much more reliable track record than general sports media. That is because it relies on a long-term subscription only model, not newspaper sales or click-bait or "see news at 10" model, so it's quite different from the newsrooms that most sports media has. The amount of speculation is quite low, I'd take any article there as 95%+ accurate. So Forest will be lending out Laryea, feel free to quote this back at me if I'm wrong! On the other extreme is the Italian calcio press which reports any wild rumour. I'd take the general North American sports media as in between those two extremes.
More on-topic, I agree with those who say that it's more likely that Laryea will be loaned out within the Championship, especially given our new known and rumoured acquisitions, so I guess we can move any further discussion of him to the former players thread.

MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
Exciting day today. Anxious to see how the team does the remainder of the year with all these anticipated re-enforcements.
I also have to give credit where credit is due. It's a rebuilding year. Bob so far, has been able to accomplish so much more with less than half the lineup compared to last year. Let that sink in for a bit.
Pure speculation and thinking about the other Series A player rumor.
If it is Belotti then we would need to trade a DP, only likelihood would be Poz (i personally think Poz is due for a big year). Where would he go and how do we replace him as our 10? LAFC have a DP slot available (i think, Chiellini was only a TAM) and would be a good one and then you could go after Blessing.
You then have Belotti, Akinola and Jimenez with Osorio or Blessing (also plays right wing) as your attacking mid field options.
Short of a trade then the next Series A rumored player if true is at most a TAM, and that's why I swing back to Bernadeschi because even with Destro there are too many strikers. Interesting times.

In agreement with no transfer fee. A 'mutual release' maybe?
IIRC he was under contract until 2023.
Perhaps statement may have been worded so for appearance sake.
He is a beloved and loyal Grifone. Likely to eventually return in some front office capacity.
I really suspect he may have had a relegation release clause.
Today is a good day.
Cristico deal is 2 years not 3 from what I was told…
Bellotti rumour is/was bs… they spoke once last year he wants Insinge money. TFC balked at that and since then anytime it’s brought up in Italy it’s his agent trying to drum up interest in his client as he wants Milan and Milan does not want him.
TFC needs a 6 more than anything else… it doesn’t matter who else we sign if we continually get run over in the middle of the park this team will continue to be mediocre
Yeah, not sure about S K Moore.
Anyone with any insight to share?
Understand he is new at TLN; who's ownership I know have deep Italian community and historical SerieA/TFC football connects.
Joined as DMS & SEO Specialist. IIUC CV seems to suggests previous involvement somehow with SKYSports and Gianluca Di Marzio?
Runs Lazio and Napoli sites?
Yet 'breaks/confirms' third SerieA player coming; Insigne, Criscito... Destro/Belotti/Bernardeschi/Other?
On latest COYR, Terry Dunfield also suggests 3 to 4 players besides Lorenzo Insigne coming this window.
But... no third SerieA confirmation!
Hmmm... interesting link by S K Moore to some other SerieA Italian player suggestions like Saponara.
Who oddly seems to share same Agent as Mattia Destro?
I’m not going to belabour the topic but I feel my point is being missed.
They didn’t claim he was going to be loaned out, so you’re being more positive than they are.
They claimed he will “Likely” be loaned out. News outlets make these small distinctions for very specific reasons, and it’s usually because they don’t really know for certain.
If they don’t know for certain… well, you’re citing their accuracy, so I’d go with that.
I mean, obviously if he’s not getting time in the Championship, they’re “likely” not going to want him in the Prem. But that is NOT a confirmation, no matter how accurate an outlet may be. They haven’t claimed what keeps being claimed in this thread.
“Likely”, in ALL media forums, specifically means “we aren’t 100% sure.” It could be directly from a great source, and it still wouldn’t be confirmation of anything but how possible it is. Someone at the club saying “likely” is not the same as someone at the club saying “he will be loaned out.”

^I really like Poz and I do think the pressure will be off him this year (even with expiring contract) and he should put up great numbers. I was just speculating how you bring on another DP this year. Really don't think Bernadeschi either but you never know. Saponara isn't a 6, so that would appear unlikely. At least there is a buzz..

They could sign a new deal at any time. I assume that would negate his cap hit? Or move it to a half-season hit, so we could use the remainder for a half-season TAM payment to a new DP (assuming it would cover at least half the DP value).
Think there’s a way to work it somehow.
I’m convinced half the rumours about tfc on twitter come from this msg board
I was told the other Italian was Destro, but I have seen a bunch of reports out of Italy that he is wanted my smaller Serie A sides.
So who knows, i’m hoping they sign a 6 instead of striker
We need a number 6 and ideally a right-back as well. Kosi’s doing pretty well for someone parachuted into it, but neither he nor Chung is anywhere near starting MLS quality.
I really think Priso is a major talent. He’s going to make mistakes and be headstrong but our central defence improved 100% with him on the field the other day. He ran Montreal ragged.
I think he could be a starting DM now, he just shouldn’t be. Not experienced enough, too mistake prone, although he can do the basic job. But just as Jayden should be understudying Insigne, he needs a mentor player who is the day-in-day-out guy.
That would make the most sense in terms of past business. The U.S. produces a lot of decent holders, not a ton of good strikers.
I think they might surprise us. I suspect the third player will be a right wing-back. I might be wrong, but he seems to value Michael’s defensive abilities more than we do, and he has four central mids to work with already who are all at least competent, albeit only one defensive.
So BB will probably push to address the glaring weakness that is the right side.
Either way, after how well a dedicated holder worked the other night (Ralph rarely ventured more than 10 yards into Montreal’s half) I’d be surprised if we didn’t see a lot more 4-1-2-3.
Not sure we need another centre forward in Destro.
