So things are looking pretty bleak right now, but to be completely honest, we have actually (not just in a sour grapes kind of way) been screwed out of at least 3 points by the officials so far this season.

We should've had a penalty against Dallas in the opening game of the season (meaning it probably should've been a win), which would've given us an extra 2, and that goal against Van. that wasn't allowed would've given us at least a draw, but maybe even a win.

Without those two massive officiating mistakes, we'd be sitting in a playoff spot right now.

I took a look at NE’s last few games and OG has been nailed to the bench. I’m guessing that Arena came to grips with what a disaster he is now.

Could potentially also include the non-call against Jesus against NYCFC...by no means is it a game we should have been involved in but it could have lead to a goal and then a tie for one extra point too...

I caught a few minutes towards the end of their game on the weekend on DAZN and he came on in the 84th when they were up 2-1. Columbus crossed the ball in and he didn't track his man, was too easy for Hurtado (who was also mentioned in another thread yesterday) to get in and get the goal.

Sounds about right, lol. Maybe NE can take Salcedo and Mavinga off our hands next year.

Yeah, that too. So we're not as bad as we seem.

We're still not actually good, though.

RE "not actually as bad as we seem."

We have to remember, we also had some luck this season, in terms of calls but especially in terms of scoring goals. We've been converting chances at an insane rate, mostly thanks to Jesús. He's going to revert, hopefully to somewhere above the mean, but not continuing at the same torrid pace. He's good, but he's not actually Jesus, plus some MLS defenses will eventually find a way to stop him.

So my highly scientific opinion: we've had some bad luck and bad calls, but also the opposite, and we're about as bad as we seem when looking at the whole season so far.

Thanks... if I wasn't depressed enough about giving up a stoppage time winner no I have to deal with Montreal in first. FML

Guys watch the highlights of the Galaxy - Minnesota game. One of the most exciting 1-1 games I've ever seen in MLS. Great plays, great saves. I dunno, but either team looks like they could beat TFC 5-1.

Default VAR Changes - This Weekend

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/what-...ter-in-atlanta

    2 things

Centralised decision making which in other sports/leagues has led to more consistency & less liklihood the ref will ignore

Once a check or review is in progress, the automatically generated graphic is immediately distributed for on-screen display, allowing for more transparency of the league's Video Review process.

If you want to spend 19 minutes of your life listening to Howard Webb tell you why this is a good thing, there is a video in the link.

Anything that will makes things more consistent is a godsend.

So TFC goes down a goal & Joshua Kloke tweets about his meal.

I'm a gonna not take him seriously at all for TFC anymore.

What a half move on Saputo's part. This will make no one happy. Sure, they got rid of the cat's butt, but they're still not the Impact any more.

That guy is very lucky he has intergenerational mafia money.

It sounds from the fans there like he was very much like Losada, a real tough dude, acerbic with the players, pushing them sternly.

It’s not really the model for winning coaches these days; most big clubs seem to be going to the Klopp/Tuchel mold of getting guys who treat the players aces.

I wouldn't put Tuchel in the same boat with Klopp. He's picked fights with half that Chelsea team. If anything he's in the stern mold.
