solid defender, good piece of business

We need two more, plus a striker, a winger and a staring goalie.

Either Arena sees him as a backup or he’s mental. Probably took a big pay cut.

farrell and kessler are the starters at cb...gonzalez might be number 3 4 or 5...at this point probably preferred to be with a team close to a championship rather than a rebuild

Nah. Watch. Omar will be solid, playing for a good team, but he needed to move on. His performance last year may well have been a comment on us not him.

I would be shocked if he holds it together. He was the major destabilizing force in our back line and that in itself is saying something.

Well, the whole high press thing just completely exposed our backline. I wonder how he might do in a system which doesn't either leave him 1v1 or ask him to gamble for the turnover like that.

Plus, I think Arena is not an blind loyalist or a moron.

But there were days Omar looked bad. This is not a big opinion for me. You might be right.

Remember how Vanney used to yell at him all the time? Arena will do the same thing. He'll be no. 3 though you'd think.

We will miss his heading ability; and we only just started to use it....

I also noticed how little movement there has been from team to team even on free agents; you have to think that with the season starting in February, and just over a month for teams to replace, on average, seven or eight players, the agents are just drooling about how long they can push accepting a deal.

Teams are going to pay through the nose this year.

O'Neill hopefully is the number 3 CB. We need atleast one more as I fear that Mavinga will continue to regress. He relies so much on his physical tools that once those start to seep away in his early 30's he is gonna have some big issues.

    10 AM ET: Re-Entry Process – Stage 2 List

The list of players eligible for selection in the Re-Entry Process – Stage 2 will be released by MLS Communications on December 23 at 10 a.m. ET.
    1 PM ET: Re-Entry Process, Stage 2

The Re-Entry Process, Stage 2 is conducted in the same order as Stage 1 and consists of MLS players who were not selected in Stage 1. Not all unselected Stage 1 players will be available for selection as players may re-sign with their previous club between stages or may opt-out of the process.
man oh man these mls rules

I feel it's normal. Usually picks up after the Re-Entry Draft and the SuperDraft. Looking at our past seasons, the majority of our additions come in the new year

Edit: reggie beat me to it

The timing seems normal now. But next month is going to be BONKERS. I was really, really surprised by how much roster each team is releasing.

Yeah I initially thought it was just a speed thing and that could mostly be mitigated. But I noticed a lot of guys running across to save his butt when parked in the 18 too. He’s lose sight of his man then there’d be a bit of a scramble. Think the wrap that he’s got to play next to an organizer is true.

Still looking for our Drew Moor replacement!

We have acquired the No. 2 selection in both the Re-Entry Process, Stage 2, and Waiver Order from Toronto FC in exchange for our No. 22 spots and $75K in GAM.

They probably weren't planning on picking anyone, so getting some free GAM is great.

Interest remains high in versatile free agent Raheem Edwards. Toronto FC, LAFC and a handful of others vying to be his next club, I'm told.

Edwards, 26, began his career with Toronto and was most recently with LAFC, where he set a new career-best for minutes under Bob Bradley.

Bradley seemed to get a lot out of him and so I’m on board with bringing him back.

Raheem would be decent cover for if Richie heads to Europe. Don't think he starts over Lawrence or Auro though.

Not sure how accurate this paper is but the deal is €7M per season with a 4 year contract. https://twitter.com/total_tfc/status...487793664?s=21

That seems like the most reasonable offer. $8 million USD per year. Highest DP salary ever, but not by much. Those $11M/$20M rumours were too extreme for MLS salaries

Ya but would that 8M gross or net?
