Who knows what we may see. Hopefully they can get motivated to face their biggest rival. But at least some of us RPB and fellow supporters will be back on the road and in the stands at Saputo. Heck it could not be worse than the 6-0 loss I saw there many years ago. Looking forward to the beer flowing at McLeans as always though.

We are going to win. Something like 5-3 or 2-1 with another own goal being the decider. Just because it would be so MLS.

How do you imagine the roster politics are going right now?

Perez: "I'm planning to sit Omar and play Mavinga with Morrow the rest of the way, Maybe Auro in a pinch, although there is the height issue..."

Ali: "Omar Gonzalez is a proven winner in this league and we have to play him." (Jesus H, don't let anyone figure out the CB I signed for $1.3m a year is crocked...)

Coming up on ten years since he was a proven winner.
    Yesterday's home runs don't win today's games.

Signing Omar in 2019 turned our defence around on our run to the MLS Cup. He's been on the decline since then however.

If clearing the bar in year one on that signing was a 5/10, he was 5.000001

Even in year one, when we went up against the best teams, it was he was not an asset and certainly not worth his salary.

    Doesn't change my point.
I would agree that in 2019 he was alright. No terrible but not huge either.

Caldwell noted during the game that he was absolutely spent, energy wise, by the 70th minute.

He's a fucking center back. He runs about a third of the distance of anyone in the midfield. And he doesn't run, so why is he exhausted?

    The dude is completely spent.

At this point, the only defenders I trust to do the job on this team are Mavinga, Morrow and Auro, and the latter is too short to play centrally. Morrow's 35 but at least he's played there before, in San Jose.

Playing Gonzalez and Zavaleta is suicide.

agree with all of this. gonzalez has been a liability for 2 years, zavaleta 4 years.

if ali curtis extends gonzalez's contract, we can basically wave goodbye to any substantial rebuild.

gonzalez being released and jozy bought out/ sold/ contract canceled by mutual consent are the two most urgent points of business this summer.

There's a young defender I'd sign from Peru in a heartbeat, eighteen, playing week in and out in the first division for two seasons, still largely undiscovered and rated below 500K.

We'll sign some crocked retread MLS first-round draft pick from 2011.

If Ali is still in charge we'll either re-sign Gonzalez to a 1+1 or find some other ex-peripheral USMNT defender to come in.

It’s a football day and in Montreal none the less. I assume the boys are flying in and out of MTL today before the international break?

Turns out the guy I was tracking was invited to train with Arsenal this summer, but they pulled out because he's multi-owned (like Soteldo). Arsenal has a policy against third-party ownership signings.

Still, someone huge will sign him long before MLS opens its sleepy eyes. He's still at that age and experience where they could structure a deal to be much larger based on performance over time, but this league still has a long way to go on paying attention to smaller countries.

The most interesting thing about this fixture, minus that it's these losers we're playing, is to see if we are in fact 2018 TFC again. If we come out roaring, focused, and lay it on MTL then it's the arrogance and shit attitude again that doomed the season. If we come out trash like usual then at least we can confirm we're trash and can't get up for anything.

Regardless, this match is fitting for a solid weed drink and a few pints.

According to Instagram Kevin Silva made the trip with the team. Is that typical for him to travel when he’s not expected to make the bench? Or is this just in case Bono/Westberg have a freak injury and can’t play?

    TFC2 line-up today.

Has Singh, Dunn, Rutty, Nelson and Perruzza. So we are not playing the kids tonight in Montreal it seems.

If it's strong enough it makes the spectacle we're putting on tolerable as I miss a lot of it.
