This is textbook nepotism. Caldwell has zero qualifications, has taken no meaningful steps towards being a coach with enough qualifications to manage TFC.
I like Singh, but he 100% wants Caldwell to manage because he knows he will start Priso. He is WTRs new Fraser.

Yeah its quite ridiculous. TFC needs a seasoned man manager along with being good with tactics. Caldwell is so MLS 1.0

the board (Manning and Curtis) should skype, zoom, or teleconference the supporter groups to get their opinions on what type of coach we want for the club and what requirements he should have, similiar to the Sounders Front Office, after all it is the supporter groups and fans who give them their pay cheques, no more signing of buddies and back door deals, they figuratively slapped us fans all in the face with appointing Armas, a coaching license should be bare minimum to coach our club

Can't really find anything on Pineda's coaching credentials outside of him being an assistant in Seattle and him having turned down the DCU job in the winter.

Yep. Throw one of Armas' assistants or Munoz out there Wednesday to manage and go from there.

I'll put my money on someone internal taking over in an interim capacity - Munoz, Dichio, etc.

I'm curious what they do with the rest of the coaching staff. Nearly everyone who came in was Armas's people. Do they clean the full house and start clean or does the supporting cast get to stay?

I'd say the supporting staff stays until they get someone permanent, who can then decide. Game in three days, and you know Ali and Manning were not firing Armas until yesterday. They have no one on their list yet.

I could see Munoz coaching the first team on Wednesday and still coaching TFC2 on Friday for their game

In terms of coaching licenses, here's what some internal people have... I have no idea what these different levels mean, but people in our organization have them.

    Caldwell - UEFA A https://www.linkedin.com/in/stevenca...alSubdomain=ca
    Dichio - UEFA B, USSF A and B https://www.torontofc.ca/news/dichio...caf-qualifiers
    Munoz - USSF Pro https://www.torontofc.ca/news/mike-m...-ii-head-coach
    Dunfield - Canada A https://www.canadasoccer.com/news/ca...ce-recipients/
    Capotosto (Acadamy Director) - Canada B, USSF C and Y https://varsityblues.ca/staff-direct...y-capotosto/22

Well, they took 8 hours from end of game to come to that conclusion. I'm honestly dreading the presser because I'm not sure I have any faith in Ali to make the right decisions. Manning only marginally moreso.

    I would go with
    Javier Perez - Assistant Coach

Javier Perez was named as an Assistant Coach for Toronto FC on February 17, 2021.

Perez, a native of Spain, most recently worked as an assistant coach with New York City FC, where he spent four seasons (2016-20). Prior to his work with NYCFC, Perez spent four years with US Soccer, serving as head coach of the U-18 Men’s National Team and assistant coach with both the U.S. Men’s National Team and U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team. He was part of the senior men’s national team’s staff at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the U-20 squad at the 2015 U-20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand. Before coming to the US in 2007, Perez spent six years at Real Madrid as a head coach for youth teams from U-9 to U-19 at the club’s foundation development center (2001-2007). Perez holds his UEFA Pro Licence, UEFA “A” Licence and a Ph.D. in Sports Science from Universidad De Leon in Spain.

And then have Dichio and Caldwell as assistants.

How many times will Curtis and Manning refer to TFC as a 'big club'? Putting the over/under at 3.

I could get on board w/ that.
Credentials and experience seem sounds to me.
Sounds like someone could do well for a few weeks while a FT search goes on, but also may have enough experience to not hire the first rando they find.

I don't trust Rollins. Feels like he's making it up based on the fact that Munoz is the most likely person, so he just is saying it pretending it's facts.

KJ/Kloke/Moliaro are the ones I trust

Rollins is likely the only one will share the news before the press conference. The rest of the beat guys hold the information, write their pieces and release it right after TFC announces it.

Yeah. Rollins sometimes seem to throw stuff at the wall and hope it sticks. With Singh throwing out that Caldwell stuff I am all aboard the Munoz for interim coach train.

Some guy on Twitter who covers the Quakes says it is Perez as interim. We'll see in 6 minutes.
