Default Other MLS Games This Weekend - May 15-16

All game times are kickoff as provided by MLS

Games in red are ones I think worth watching for one reason or another. YMMV

    Friday

    NO GAMES

    Saturday

Austin @ LAG 3:50pm - Hipster special. Two teams who want to stroke the ball around.

Montreal @ Atlanta 7:38pm - Is Montreal for real. Heck, I'm not sure Atlanta is for real.

NYRB @ Philly 7:38pm - Post Supporters shield disease for Philly but I think they are better then they have shown & that NYRB is ripe to get roasted

Dallas @ Minnesota 8:08pm - Yeh, no. The sort of game where if I will go on DAZN to check the goals.

Houston @ Colorado 9:08pm - Midtable Western clashes are just so hard to get into but we might see an old TFC hand come off the bench

Nashville @ RSL 9:38pm - A game for the purists, if you are into the purity of store brand cheddar cheese - I am not but Nashville intrigues me.

Portland @ San Jose 10:08pm - San Jose has seen the return of the Goonies for a bit this season. Portland still suffering from post CCL blues

    Sunday

Vancouver @ SKC 2:08pm - Test to see if the Caps have it in them long term to hang with foes who are relentless.

Miami @ Cinci 4:10pm - New stadium is supposed to be a jewel - based on Red Bull Arena but nicer & more up to date - bad defence vs. an offence that can't seem to click

Columbus @ NER 6:13pm - NER at home is very good. CBus we saw is struggling

Orlando @ DCU 8:08pm - If Orlando is going to be a beast in the east, they need to win games like this. We play Orlando in a week.

LAFC @ Seattle 9:55pm - Vela MIGHT play - Frei will not. 2nd game between these 2 in 4 weeks. Two VERY good midfields worth staying up for.

Atlanta fans booing every call against their team reminds me of how unsmart they are down there.

Orlando fans might complain but they don't boo the obvious fouls.

Us? We groan & keep on going.

A night of last minute winners as Robin Lod puts Minnesota up 1-0 ahead of FC Selling Team (Dallas) in the 93rd minute.

Yup - had a 3 on 2 30 seconds before with 1 minute to go in AET & instead of making the obvious pass, guy shot it right at the keeper - opens up a quick counter &...they are undone.

Impressive stadium. Great sound, the 6,000 allowed sound more like 30,000.

The football from Cinci? Not so impressive.

It looks like a new team that’s learning how to play together. Also one that spent all their money on forwards.

But I at turning green with stadium envy. This place makes all the other stadiums in MLS look like dumps.

That stadium is way better than most in the league, Atlanta is the only other one that comes close IMO. Most others aren't even comparable.

CF Beckhams leading 2-0 on two terrible defensive breakdowns. Cincinnati's defense reminds me of TFC with Marco Reda on the back line.

If people want to think about it - the potential roadtrip to Cinci would be Saturday Sept 11 for an evening game

Already thinking about it with it also being the NFL opening weekend, Ravens at Bengals the next day. I think to open the border they just have to make it fully vaccinated for those going either way, at least coming into Canada, sooner than later.

Miami putting in the noted shutdown central midfielder Jay Chapman....seems to be on only to mark Haglund on corners

    which didn't work so well

    Good for him

So DCU going a thousand miles an hour & hyper pressing vs. Orlando going a thousand miles an hour & hyper pressing

Wonder if that will happen in the Florida heat next week.

One other note - Orlando has a long throw specialist for a LB.

I don't know what will happen, but I'm excited to see it!

My fiancée and I just bought tickets to the game (the one perk to being TFC fans down here lol)

Lawrence had quite a good long throw last week from what I remember. He only did it once though, seems we like to keep the throws nice and short

So we are tied for second, but #ArmasOut.

    All clear to me now.

We’re twelfth in the east. (Although with all the ties it’s effectively sixth.)

We’re also averaging 1 ppg and in a log jam with teams between 20th-25th in the league. Ahead of only Cincy and Chicago.

But I’m all for positive thinking.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

Hey Ashtone Morgan finally saw the field for RSL. He got 14 minutes, did anyone see how he did?

Ya decent play whipping in balls into the box with his left foot. Nothing special butnothing that would say it was a terrible debut
