I know he is young but Nelson has not impressed me at all anytime he has played , hopefully for his sake he will eventually improve but so far not looking good at all.

I don't even know about Bradley. Some really poor shot and pass attempts when TFC was close to the RB net.

Delgado might be my favorite player on the team, but he was dreadful there. Him, Priso and DeLeon should be off.

I'll give Armas some time, but the team is poorly organized, especially the defence. Maybe it's just the injuries, maybe it's players being forced out of preferred positions, but Armas better fix things.

Delgado looked like he was actively trying to help the Red Bulls. He was that bad.
    Deleon sucks.
Akinola is not a DP level striker (we pay 6 million dollars to another striker to be injured all the time)
Bono can't be the starter going forward.
We can't string 5 passes together.

No one can pass today so I will give him a free pass on that. He is winning the ball back and moving it quick though.

Its insulting to Red Bulls organization to call TFC RBNorth.

TFC can't execute tactics like a Red Bulls team can lol

Who knew that having no DPs on the field, no Osorio, and no Westberg would make a difference?! It’s just shocking really, that -5 starters we aren’t a very good football team, especially up front....😂😂😂

They had 2 chances through the press & scored on one.

We had chances to play the ball to the right man & hesitated.

When you play the press, you have to move the ball in attack fast - that requires commitment to try things. A lot of our guys are waiting for the right moment instead of using the moment they have right now.

DeLeon is not a creative force - switching him & Delgado might actually work but Armas doesn't think outside the box.

Also, Mullinho on. There is a scrappy, hardworking goal out there for him.

Im off the train for Armas/Curtis, how can you be without so many players, we should be investing in our medical team ie Physio, Cardio, Trainers; please let me know any other club in the MLS missing so many players at the start of the season, this doesnt look like the FO did their offseason homework, and making sure our team was ready to go from the start

This is getting very worrisome, Columbus Wednesday, NYFC next Saturday and we still haven’t played what would be close to a full squad. Need a result today because TFC is not disclosing whether anyone else is close to being ready. Need both Poz and Lawrence for Wednesday.

Theres years of habits playing under Vanney system to get rid of.

The Armas way, whatever that is, not yet embedded in the players yet

Agreed. Honestly, I think we should let others play until we have a full strength lineup.

He might look a little bit better with other better attacking options around him to open up space. But still, no sign of end product right now...

Is there a bet in the TSN studio over who can say 'trigger points' the most in today's broadcast?

Nelson is behind Shaff and JMR in terms of the young wingers to me. He needs gametime and isn't good enough to be getting it here this year.

I don't think there's a single player on either side who ahsn't had at least one bad giveaway today. The red bull way!

The thing is, anybody midfielder with a modicum of technical ability can make those passes quick & in the past we've seen it when NYRB lacks those people for matches, they struggle.

We have 4 mids who seem to be able to do so - Laryea, Osorio, Poz & presumably Soteldo. Richie played OK that half in my mind because he went at players & tried things. But when he's giving the ball to Nelson, DeLeon, Bradley or Priso...its going nowhere.

To be frank, they just have more quality out there than we do.

We might have created turnovers with the press but we look clueless about how to turn those opportunities into goals. They’ve looked a lot better when the openings have occurred.

Also the back line looks incredibly shaky. Every time I see Gonzalez run for a slightly misplaced pass it’s a disaster.

Cant get much worse than that first half.

    Ugly lump it footie.

Delgado should never play wide, doesn’t have the quick turn inside.

    Nelson is nowhere near ready.

Yes it can, we have to listen to Caldwell. Ayo fell and Caldwell raves about the defending of the Red Bull’s. Ayo must do better than that.

I actually think Caldwell has over rotated. I think he saw the stick he was getting here the last couple of weeks and is now not pointing out obvious problems.

Its not better when he plays it this way either.

Gawd. Nelson is so raw. He's so not MLS ready yet
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

    -Eduardo Galeano
