When they say Altidore “will return” they mean eventually, right? Maybe not this game but he is going to return. Because, prior to this update, I wasn’t sure if that was ever going to happen.

My impression was return to the available roster, not necessarily play a big role. I'd be shocked if he sees any significant minutes. To me, In every minute he's played this year his movement has looked horrible. As a guy with a bad back I can empithize. The hamstrings follow. Once you're injured like that you aren't going to make asthetically pleasing athletic movements. I wish it was different but to me he looks like a guy who can't do what he needs to do.

Has the media been more specific? They weren't both shot in the right thigh were they?

Odd re Poz. “Our best player player to play but we aren’t letting him” is another way of putting it.

They have to some extent - Oso has inflamation similar to a runner's injury (i dont remember the exact term but they talked about it on the Waking the Red pod after the RB game). Non serious but need rest and can flare up randomly according to Dr. Tej.

The indication was that Pozuelo's was a different type of injury where the medical staff was holding him back due to imaging, not necessarily Pozuelo himself. I don't know details other than that one listen on Sunday so I could be off, but at least from Tej's perspective (as an actual MD) they were different injuries to the same muscle group.

If we needed a veteran striker, this is the one I wish we had signed

By the sounds of this tweet, FO has been trying to get a way to get this Dwyer thing done for a bit but had to move some things around

Saying the right things. I think he won't be available until the Orlando game - that would be spicy as there will be fans in attendance.

Dwyer, at the VERY LEAST, will give us more consistent 2nd/3rd striker minutes and protects Akinola to some extent.

Hmm, thigh injuries aren't really that common in running. Maybe tight IT bands, but that's less an injury than something that is managed. Hips are the most likely injury in that area.

    Thanks for the intel.

Salary guide is out - as of April 15 so our recent additions not involved

For checking a team, just search based on the city name

    https://mlsplayers.org/resources/salary-guide

Zavs had a paycut and now is quite cheap

Morrow also down to 125k, good deal there. Including our new comers we're likely around $20M in total salary, easily the highest in the league. MLSE is still opening the cheque book.

Lucas Cavallini is on $1.36M. Would gladly take him on TAM over Jozy as a DP. I think that shows the quality of DP striker we could get once Jozy's DP contract is up.

Jozy at 3.6M. I thought he was at $5M plus, so that's a bit more manageable to offload somewhere, still pretty high though. Bono making double Westberg. Maybe that's why he's playing, so they can justify it.

I believe it was reported last season or in the off season that his contract was heavily front loaded.

Hmm I wonder if there's a chance that his contract could be 5.5/3.5/1.5 making him TAMable next year. One can only hope. Jozy as a TAM player is more of an acceptable risk with his injury propensity, compared to as a DP

In his interview with Molinaro Bradley specifically mentions off field issues. Interesting to know what he is referring to but this is the quote (if you want the article, please subscribe, we need to support John’s journalism):

“It’s been a crazy start to the year. There’s so much that’s gone on behind the scenes, and you know me, I’m never one to make excuses ever, but it’s been our reality for this last stretch.”

I think he was referring to having to play pretty much away for 2 seasons in a row and also having a new staff, no offseason fitness instruction, new systems, and Covid vaccines.

Dwyer's contract should be <200k seeing the pay cuts that out of contract vets like Morrow and Zavaleta had to accept.

Love the Dwyer acquisition. He's exactly the type of affordable striker depth that we need, and he's chomping at the bit to put on a TFC kit.
