There is some work to do here. If Ali Curtis isn’t just a dead man walking, he better get off his ass and actually make the signings on time for once.

I'm not saying soteldo would have made mistakes, I'm saying the players who were on the bench:
Dunn; Shaffelburg; Sing; Perruzza; Silva; priso; Okello
You don't bring inexperienced kids in to close out a game with so much emotions involved. Not just with trying to secure the point, but everything else happening with this team.
RE: Auro - he's always made mistakes and I'm not a huge fan of his. He's a defensive liability. but outside backs can be.

Soteldo was notably really pissed being subbed off. Threw a water bottle and tucked his head into his shirt. Hopefully this was because he was mad at his finishing...but he looked more like he was asking himself "why in the hell did i come here" the bench left him alone for a few minutes before Dwyer came over and patted him on the head. From my observation it looked troubling....hopefully I am not reading too much into it...
I think he’s pissed because he got subbed off both games for putting in good performances. However, Perez could’ve made a formation change and kept Soteldo on, and subbed in a midfielder instead of Mullins.
Man doesn't want to come off is good.
Perez said after the game he did talk to Soteldo when he came off & explained.
A lot of our players don't want to come off. I like it. Unless you know you are hurt or completely out of gas, you shouldn't want to come off the field.
No idea, but probably not a lot. It’s crossed my mind a few times that we should transfer out a number of our youth players, try to get sell on-causes to get some minimal financial benefit. Tough to see the development opportunities here materializing…
To use an example, it would appear we’re not better off for having kept Okello vs. taking the cheque we were offered a few years back.
according to wheeler ayo s injury is serious
Loaning out our youth players wouldn't give us cap space. Most of them are part of the "supplemental roster" which doesn't count against the cap
I'm guessing they rely partly on transfer buzz for their estimates, but it may be worth noting that Transfermarkt now has Richie Laryea as our fifth-most valuable player at $3.85M.
Poz number one at 11m, Soteldo number two at 8M, Osorio at 6.6M, Ayo at 5M and change.
Big dropoffs after them. Jozy is at $1.75M, Lawrence at $1.3M (we apparently paid 600k for him), Mavinga at 1M.
Omar is now down to 585,000 or some such, just north of Zavaleta.
Nah, he's only 21, his potential upside is still significant and Frankfurt reportedly offered $300,000 and NO sell on clause for him. Plus, he was 17 at the time and of significant enough talent to make that a giveaway.
It made business sense to keep him... if we developed him into an MLS player. He's not getting enough time to settle in a position or compete for a spot.
The gap between the level of our best first-team players and the young guys is so severe, I'm not sure how they get time except during injury. But the answer is to fix our development pipeline so these guys are ready by the time they've been in the system for for or five years.
EDIT: Perhaps by buying a winning club, we've made ourselves like the MLS equivalent of Man Utd or Chelsea, where they have a ton of youth that are insanely talented but they're rarely good enough to supplant the players they buy.
The MLS equivalent is a first team with a transfer value somewhere north of $30M and zero promotable players.
(I don't actually think this is the case. A lot of these guys will probably make it if they can ever get on a field regularly. Allegedly, Liam Fraser bossed the midfield for Canada yesterday (although that may be MLSsoccer's inexplicable hardon to see him starting somewhere.)

The Canadian midfield did eventually control the game. After the first 25 minutes or so they basically forced the US into a low block and kept them there for the duration of the match. Possession numbers made it seem like Canada had marginally more possession… but it didn’t feel that way.
I found it a little bit hard to assess Fraser’s performance and thought he looked crappy at times. But if you go by the stats he was one of our best players on the day.
Yeh, the usual supporters of Fraser (including KJ) thought he was good but it was really hard to see what he was actually doing. He wasn't a deep lying playmaker nor was he really finding pockets for passes to him & he wasn't much of a destroyer either. Just a standard DM sitting in front of the back 2, marking a player when defending, getting a pass back or from a CB and moving it on to the more creative players. Its a role but hardly bossing it.
other than being turned inside out on the US goal i really didnt notice Fraser, maybe thats a good thing
It is crazy that hype factor Fraser has behind him. He is a midfielder with limited mobility, poor defensive awareness who relies on a ton of back and side passes. Occasionally he can ping a solid pass up the field, but he doesn't do that enough to stand out to me.
Ayo's season is done...

Time for the summer of Perruzza.
That’s really disappointing, seems like injuries might really hamper his career. Good thing Peruzza is back from his loan, relying on Altidore, although I’m a fan, is a scary prospect. Hopefully Peruzza is able to make the transition and find his scoring touch at this level.
feel so bad for him,i wonder if they will have a peek at the kid at tfc2,nevermind its mullinho time
