Soteldo has been sent back to Toronto after being released from Venezuela for "indiscipline" per Kloke.

We haven’t developed a striker although Jordan Hamilton showed signs of the touch needed at times. It’s hard.
I think David and Larin are very much good for goals BUT I don’t see either of them as a lone striker.

I think Herdman has fallen into the trap of trying to play the most talented 11 players rather than the best combination of 11 guys. Although, with recent injuries, options have been significantly lessened.

This will sound like nonsense, but if they were actually healthy, I would field either Akinola or Cavalinni first as the CF. Their style of play is a much better complement to the wide players who want to get in service.

You have a point. Plus Larin seems to need a couple of chances. Not a half chance like the very very best - Vardy springs to mind

I was trying to refer to TFC though, using Canada as an example of how hard it is to score, and that if we buy out Jozy (which seems likely) goals are not assured.

He crapped on his teammates after the Brazil game, so it might have been that.

Either all of the south american blog traffic is just making shit up or his agent is working overtime to get him a move. The latest delusion seems to be that AC Milan wants him as a striker.

Jesus Tapdancing on a Pinhead, this stuff is out of left field. He had a one-in-five scoring record at Santos as a winger, one-in-seven for us. He's not a striker.

The only thing assured if we kept Jozy is more injuries and less than 10 goals (more likely less than 5 honestly) for the season.

Sometimes you have to admit player's are done and he is. He was good and did a lot for us during our Vanney years but that time has passed. Nobody could look at him over the past 2+ years and honestly think he is guaranteed goals. Anyone who does has passed rose colored glasses and moved straight into beer goggles.

I don't think Herdman does either. In his post game interview he even commented on the fact that David and Larin need someone to play off of (I think he was talking about them playing off each other)

Oso has had very good games against the Mexican clubs in CCL too. The Mexican media and fanbases have only seen him at his best. This only increases his value.

Schaff and Yefe seem to be building some rapport but if an offer came I would be happy to move on from yefe, dude just seems like a bad teammate.

Ego getting the better of him on a regular basis for sure if things not going his way. You can see it whether talking to teammates, refs, coaches, etc. Not a fan of that type of player.

Giovinco was similar and I hated it at first but I learned to accept that attitude. I find their on field temperments and attitudes similar, especially year one Giovinco.

Dangerous move if CANMT are in a position to qualify. If he gets benched then he might struggle for call-ups. Herdman would probably hold a lot of sway as to whether or not Oso would be willing to leave.

That's all well and good if you score goals for fun.

I ain't seeing a whole lot of production whether that's goals or assists. A lot running to the corner, cut backs, fake outs that lead to exactly nothing.

It almost looked like the only player he was willing to pass to was Poz in the beginning-Schaff in one interview said he had to earn yefe's respect before the passes came It's good to be confident and want to be the man but that is one out sized ego on the little guy. Seba at least could fill the net on his own Yefe needs his team mates

Seba's passes to Delgado near the box can probably be counted on 2 hands - and we all remember 1.

Heck, Poz still doesn't want to pass to Mullins much.

Strongly disagree on the ego comment. Sometimes your teammate is so poor in comparison that you’re better off hogging the ball. Players have to prove that passing to them is the best option unless the net is wide open.

Not when you are a playmaker though, it would be different if he was scoring but he isn’t.

I’m just saying I wouldn’t be upset if we got a good offer and flipped him. To be fair he came into a tire fire of a squad, in a pandemic, away from home in temp housing and got injured right off the bat so it couldn’t have been an easy transition but I don’t think his attitude helped either

Anytime I see somebody over 30 suggested, the music I'm thinking is along the lines of who is playing at Casino Rama this weekend - past their prime & milking what they can out of it.

I really want to believe the Insigne rumor. He might be over 30 but he plays at an elite level.

I don't actually believe it though.

A lot of other big teams in the mix as well. Nice to see we are at the table with a player like him. I assume it would be a 3 year contract max? He'd be 31 by the time he came here (34 on his way out)

I don’t know that he is done as a player, but I do assume that he has played his last game for us. My point was that moving Jozy on doesn’t mean we will immediately have a goal scorer. It’s not like a video game, finding quality strikers who consistently score is hard. And we need two.

Great to see TFC dreaming big again! I remember in October of 2013 when the first Jermain Defoe rumours surfaced. Nobody believed it was possible, then it happened.

    Bloody Big Deal 2.0?

I think this is so awesome... Three Left Wingers. Actually technically 4 (Acharo was a left Winger) Woohoo. No Striker, No CB.
