Wow, that is wild! The truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.
A week out until the next home game and we are in for one empty BMO Field considering all the tickets still available.

... and now CONCACAF is looking into Ronnie's game for possible match fixing. I mean, who could even write this stuff!?

All that needs is a link to the Canadian Soccer League
Well some good news on the youth front, the U19 and U17 Academy teams played in the special this year only short-season League1 Ontario division this year (which contained some L1O teams who couldn't play the full season due to university players (L1O is supposed to end by Labour Day, but not this year due to covid) and some L1O B teams). I assume due to border restrictions they couldn't play in the USSDA like they have recently. They probably weren't allowed to play in the top L1O division because they aren't an official team of the league anymore.
They came in 1st and 2nd place. (The U17s actually played 1 fewer match, so had a better PPG than the U19s).

Not sure what to think, some tabloid fodder?

If our action plan, possibly submitted by the MLSE board, is to sell more memberships at all costs then I can see Pirlo & Giovinco being part of another bloody big marketing ploy.
Also I could see the board saying they would like some max capacity matches next season to make up for the pandemic and to make the team relevent in the T.O sports picture and doing a full rebuild wouldn't do it. Which would make sense but it's not answering our on-field issues.
Follow-up to the Suriname VP story - both teams disqualified from tournament:
The Concacaf Disciplinary Committee has fully investigated the circumstances surrounding the integrity concerns raised by a video which circulated on social media following the Inter Moengo Tapoe vs CD Olimpia Concacaf League match.
Having assessed the actions evidenced in the video and considered written statements provided by both clubs, the Committee has determined that serious breaches of integrity rules occurred after the match.
As a consequence of these rule breaches, both clubs have been disqualified and removed from this year’s Concacaf League with immediate effect. Additionally, the Committee has ruled that Mr Ronnie Brunswijk is banned for three years from participating in any capacity in Concacaf competitions.
Concacaf is continuing to investigate this matter, and other individuals involved, and reserves the right to refer any further evidence to its Disciplinary Committee.

This part made me laugh: Additionally, the Committee has ruled that Mr Ronnie Brunswijk is banned for three years from participating in any capacity in Concacaf competitions.
Think he'll be able to still play at the age of 62 or whatever when his banning ends? Or are his playing days over now? lol.

too funny
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
Forge FC (Can PL) is up 2-0 in Concacaf League against Indipendiente (that panamanian team we lost 4-0 to a couple years ago).
But Concacaf gon' concacaf. Look at this red Mo Babouli got

Disgraceful call.
Smyrniotis must be a helluva coach. You see the players Sigma produces, and the discipline they're playing with tonight. Keeping in mind that we lost badly to this same team two years ago. Part of that is the "dinker" effect, I'm sure, like when a great tennis player loses to a determined hack who doesn't play in normal patterns. But they look more solid and determined than York, for sure.

Forge just won and advanced. This will mess up CanChamp (2021 plus the still never played 2020) even more because now there's an additional two games that Forge has eliminating more possible dates.
What garbage. Will this federation ever change?
Goddamn. Awful call, but OneSoccer needs to upgrade those announcers. It just sounds like watching the game at a pub.

The semi-finals are set. Kind of surprised the Reds are hosting, thought they may have had the match out west, where it would have gotten a lot more exposure and likely filled the place.

Maybe dont massively overprice the tickets and they might get a decent crowd this time
Semi-finals all the way in November. With schedule congestion, I guess it makes sense

Someone on Twitter commented that CanChamp games always lose money, so the bigger teams are made to absorb the losses by hosting. I can’t remember who posted it, and I’m not sure that would hold true for CPL teams, but I can see how that made sense for the old Canadian USL teams and the lower divisions.
Silly of Pa Modou Kah to shit on them for moving the dates before they'd picked the location. He admitted in his interview the other day that he thought the dates were being moved to accommodate six of our starting players being away at internationals, which he felt was unfair.
So basically, he said he wanted to play a weaker side and had a chance to do that, and Canada Soccer was wrong to accommodate international absences, as if this were two teams in the same league and at the same level.
Falls under biting the hand that feeds you.
Still, would've been more appreciated there. Wouldn't change the outcome, as this isn't Vancouver playing half a scrub team.
