Funny thing about Henry is he was a disaster in Monaco and meh in Montreal. Not a big loss for Montreal or Bournemouth in the end really.

If his name was Jesse Marsch in 2011/12 he’d probably have been fired by Mr. Big Cheese by now.

I should add I hope his personal situation turns for the best.

Wow, leaving them high and dry right before the season starts. I understand his reasons, but still.

Yup not a big loss just look at this guy’s coaching record it’s a disaster, I think Montreal is probably more than happy to see him go . Just because you are a great player does not automatically make you a great coach as many great players have found out once they tried their hand at coaching . Henry can probably because of his name get a few more jobs but eventually owners will see that this guy can’t coach . Maybe he proves me wrong who knows but so far his record is pretty lousy unfortunately as a head coach.

(Hey, I was busy this morning)

I'm not seeing the correlation - Henry is a different kind of guy.

Henry should stick to punditry or maybe become a strikers coach. He is rubbish as a manager or head coach.

I know this won't happen but the fact they mentioned it at all is hilarious:

Renard, in a press conference alongside Kevin Gilmore, CF Montreal's CEO and President, also stated that this wasn't a big possibility as they brought Ciman in to be assistant, but he may end up with the role if no other candidates are more attractive.

Ciman going from player to assistant coach to manager in the span of 3 days would definitely be hilarious.

    MLS Transfers and News

LA Galaxy are signing former Toronto FC midfielder Victor Vazquez. The 34 year old Spaniard is now a free agent. He was last in MLS in 2018, where he scored 16 times across two seasons. #LAGalaxy#MLS

Good for Victor. Not sure how effective he will be, but glad he is still playing.

Wouldn’t he have to go through allocation?

how many games was VV actually fit for in 2018?

3 years on, gotta look at it as a poor signing.

Officially yes, but when have the rules ever applied to the LA Galaxy

He'll sign under the brand new Veteran All-Star Rule, which allows a former MLS Best XI player who is over the age of 33 to return and not count against the cap of a team in southern California.

Matuidi as a TAM player may have been a fraud

The "MLS Best XI player who is over the age of 33" LAG Exemption Rule, thats awesome. I hope what it really means is VV is going into coaching.

The most shocking thing about all this isn't that Miami tried to get around the rules, its that MLS is very publicly indicating all this is an issue.

Either Garber or a bunch of the owners are pissed off at Beckham & it goes beyond this one incident.

Since it's Beckham and he is the original Galaxy getting preferential treatment guy, it wouldn't surprise me if this is all a scam to terminate that contract without using a buyout so he can sign Neville's guy Gibbs.

But isn’t the hilarious part that, TAM or not, he looks like a big of a dumpster fire out there? Not exactly the player we all remember from the WC.

Miami look like the worst managed team in MLS at the moment (although I’m sure others could be hot on their heels).

Although I do recall not too many years ago the same can and was said about TFC.

Koevermans didn’t back down from his comment that #TFC is “the worst team in the world.” Said DK: “Name me another 0-9 team in the world.”

Guess the Galaxy have to look for a new DP since they aren't buying Pavon.

The home openers are also expected to be announced today as per Steve Goff. The full schedule is not expected to be released for another two weeks.

The Whitecaps signed Caio Alexandre today as a Young Money player. Covid, not playing in Canada and a slow offseason hasn't stopped them from adding some decent looking pieces.

I think the Galaxy signing Vazquez is kind of unreal. What a wild use of an international slot.

The opportunity cost for them of those slots is higher than that for most other teams, given the interest level that foreign players have in LA. LAG can and should get terrific internationals. Better than almost any other team.

This doesn’t make sense in isolation. Makes me seriously wonder if some combination of Seba, Jozy and/or Michael will also wind up on the Galaxy. (Michael and Victor's families are close, they were neighbours.)

I'm honestly looking more forward to following LAG than TFC.
