I think MLSE is looking at the Raps and telling TFC to just hold the fort until we get through this. It’s honestly not dumb. Anything won without fans will feel like it has an asterisk, and that goes double for us. We are just so severely disadvantaged by the situation right now.

The club is so out of touch with the fans it’s crazy. 100% of the tweets on Ali’s contract extension are bashing the move right now.

I think I’m actually worried about the direction of this club under Manning/Curtis.

Curtis as much as saying in the supporter's call tonight - had to reset what looking for with the new coaching staff & the new approach - not yet but working on it - wants a long term stable DP.

Armas hinting at Liverpool style of press - calling it "hunt mode"

Armas mentions Shaffelberg as a bright spot so far.

The only real positive thing so far is that Armas seems genuinely willing to give our young guys a shot. Hopefully some of the good player development NYRB had was because of him.

It's been so disappointing since GVW.
    Then Seba, Victor, bez.

I'm utterly disappointed. Never replaced Seba. The whole fiasco with poz.

No direction or additions except a coach they had on the boys club list.

Fired reps literally 2 days after I received my refund.

This raises a lot of red flags for me.

On top of that Ali gets an extension when guys like Josy or Bradley are expected to play out on 1 year remaining when universally this isn't thr norm.

This isn't like the raps where masai is locking up all of his guys for winning . Ali hasn't done anything any of us can't do .

I'm ready to call my rep and have her relay a message to manning for me.

    Ridiculous.

Young guys definitely should play. I dislike the idea of just handing them starting spots though.

Armas seems to have buy in from the vets too. I'm not sure this is all going to work, especially against a LigaMx team first time out but...its more interesting then "swing the ball around the back and hope for an opening.

All this aside, I would just say give me a reason to be interested. At this point, am here to be manipulated, snowed, overhyped, swindled, all in the name of getting excited for something this team will do (or could do).

Where is the fun in following this team right now? They have given us nothing to look forward to. I don’t even need moves, sell me on that one magical day when we can all go back to BMO. Tell me our most flakey prospect with two bad knees and an attitude problem is the next Messi. Just try do market something and stay relevant.

Good for Shaff. I don’t see how a midfield of Bradley Delgado Osorio and Pozuelo does gengen pressing. But good for Shaff

All the soundbites and quotes have crazy buy in levels. And I believe it. Credit where credit's due, Armas has the locker room for sure.

Things are going a bit crazy, friends. We have a second rumor in as many days. Austrian Husein Balić rumored to be pursued by 5 MLS teams, TFC among them.

Also, does anyone know if TFC received some additional GAM/TAM from entering the CCL? I remember that previously being a thing.

It was previously a thing under the old CBA. Dont know if it's still a thing under the new one as the document hasn't been released yet.

It was 200k worth under old CBA

I think we need a thread just for MLS Multiplex rumours involving TFC that don’t happen. It'll run pages.

Buy in does not equal proficiency in Armas tactics.

The cynic in me says the games vs Leon are going to be a bloodbath. High press, not match fit vs Leon that is match fit in high altitude? Lulz

I put a little more stock in it because Dyer seems to be the only media guy to know anything about TFC. Saying 5 other teams are involved doesn't bode well though.

Dare I say it, I think a few players were sick of Vanney’s tactics.

Zero ambition with that extension of Curtis.

He hasn't even had his own coach manage a single game. No marquee signings and Poz was handed to him which he almost bungled.

What does this say? I guess be as mediocre as possible, create no fan enthusiasm, an early playoff exit, and be given an extension.

No real evidence of that. However, there's a portion of fans who haven't been on-board, even when we won the Cup.

I think with the high buy in from senior roster players we can infer that they appreciate a change in tactics.

Now we'll see if it was Vanney who was responsible for our plodding pace in possession or if it was the players who just didn't follow his game plan. He always said he wanted to move faster on the ball so we'll see what's up soon I guess.

I'm not sure that is going to change, although the names might - especially if the first game against Leon is a drubbing.

e.g. of that sort of thinking - people who still think Delgado is horrible.

100%, especially when you take into consideration their wing backs and forwards are considerably faster than us. Not saying they are rockets but we have some slooow players. Don't honestly know what i would do but the high press is not right. I will be so pissed if we play a stupid game in our first one back.

This might be the time to remind people that our first game one season, down in Panama, we were trying to implement a new formation - 3-4-3 IIRC. That lasted about 20 minutes.
